'Duck Dynasty' Star Phil Robertson Blasts Homosexual 'Sinners' Who are Going to Hell Like Terrorists


Phil Robertson, the star of A&E's massive reality hit Duck Dynasty, has made some outrageous remarks in a new interview in GQ.

From the profile:

What does repentance entail? Well, in Robertson’s worldview, America was a country founded upon Christian values (Thou shalt not kill, etc.), and he believes that the gradual removal of Christian symbolism from public spaces has diluted those founding principles. (He and Si take turns going on about why the Ten Commandments ought to be displayed outside courthouses.) He sees the popularity of Duck Dynasty as a small corrective to all that we have lost.

What, in your mind, is sinful?

“Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bstiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men,” he says. Then he paraphrases Corinthians: “Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers—they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.”

During Phil’s darkest days, in the early 1970s, he had to flee the state of Arkansas after he badly beat up a bar owner and the guy’s wife. Kay Robertson persuaded the bar owner not to press charges in exchange for most of the Robertsons’ life savings. (“A hefty price,” he notes in his memoir.) I ask Phil if he ever repented for that, as he wants America to repent—if he ever tracked down the bar owner and his wife to apologize for the assault. He shakes his head.

“I didn’t dredge anything back up. I just put it behind me.”

As far as Phil is concerned, he was literally born again. Old Phil—the guy with the booze and the pills—died a long time ago, and New Phil sees no need to apologize for him: “We never, ever judge someone on who’s going to heaven, hell. That’s the Almighty’s job. We just love ’em, give ’em the good news about Jesus—whether they’re homosexuals, drunks, terrorists. We let God sort ’em out later, you see what I’m saying?”

Adds Robertson:

“It seems like, to me, a vagina—as a man—would be more desirable than a man’s anus. That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”

GLAAD has condemned the remarks and says it has reached out to A&E:

"Phil and his family claim to be Christian, but Phil's lies about an entire community fly in the face of what true Christians believe," said GLAAD spokesperson Wilson Cruz. "He clearly knows nothing about gay people or the majority of Louisianans – and Americans - who support legal recognition for loving and committed gay and lesbian couples. Phil's decision to push vile and extreme stereotypes is a stain on A&E and his sponsors who now need to reexamine their ties to someone with such public disdain for LGBT people and families."

Duck Dynasty is now a $400 million brand it has become so successful.

  5. Such a sad stereotype. And A&E cancelled "Intervention" for this? I have never understood the popularity of these redneck shows. I have had so many people talk about how great and loving the guys on this show are and what wonderful people they are. Mmhmm.

  7. I never understood what drew people to this show, and now there is a good reason to just change the channel and walk away and tell your friends that like this show to do the same. That is the biggest statement you can make.

    In other words, actions DO have consequences... just as long as the Christian GETS TO DETERMINE what those consequences are, i.e. hand over the cash and then forget about it. After all, he don't "dredge up the past".

  14. I don't get this America was founded on Christian values stuff. How was slavery and genocide reflective of Christian values? I think the thousands of Native Americans who died walking the Trail of Tears would disagree about being treated the kindness of Christian love.

    Jeez, the man can't even accept responsibility for his past actions. Instead, he pretends that another person committed those 'sins.' What a hypocrite. Real Christians accept responsibility for their actions and ask for forgiveness.

    There's nothing worse than a hypocrite when it comes to judgment and punishment, even invoking religion to sell your lie - to yourself. It's unfortunate that in his eyes the lord will forget HIS indiscretions but remember everyone else's. I guess someone had to be above reproach.

    How great that a tv show based on a fabricated version of his life would be the answer to the problem he's dreamed up for America.

    also, neither were their 10 Commandments. as a matter of fact, almost every one of them (near verbatim) were found in an Egyptian tomb some 300-500 years BEFORE Moses went up that hill & collected two stones. with one of which he himself broke ALL 10 of the commandments smashing them to the ground (a little metaphor here)...

  18. I remember making a reality series for A&E a couple of years back. I wanted to cast a transexual character in an episode and was bluntly told 'we can't have a tranny on the show'. Not too surprised by this.

    Obviously A&E owners are thinking ahead of time; They'll not only propagate the Homophobia, but when it reaches a critical mass A&E will happily broadcast all those Russian-made Furnaces being festively lit and used, all in the name of 'god.'

    If anyone doesn't understand the importance of 'Hobby-Lobby's Court case - That Corporations can have a Religion - A&E's Behavior here is a perfect example of that.

    NOTE: What should also be of concern is Focus On The Family's "Irreplaceble" anti-Gay Live Theater Event coming this May 6th, 2014 at 'Theaters Everywhere' which is an Anti-Gay Propaganda Hit Piece starring all of our Favorite 'Scholarly Homophobes' being presented as...sensible, enagaging and....authoritative.

    If you do not know about this, learn about it. Boycott the theaters playing it, call theaters and press them to cancel the event.

    This is the same kind of 'Movie' the Evangelicals showed on makeshift Movie Screens hanging off the back of Army Trucks in poor villages throughout Africa and Eastern Europe that is the cause of so much violence and rhetoric against LGBTs.

    And now they think they have ground the average American into the ground, Financially and Politically that Americans are sooooo stoopid enough to believe and follow FOTF's it's natural conclusion.

    King James Bible Corinthians 6:9-10:
    “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves . . . shall inherit the kingdom of God.”

    and "effeminate" was mistranslated from the Greek original "malakoi" meaning soft. Corinthians also talks about lawsuits and those who take disputes to an earthly court and not the lord also bypass the Kingdom of God. I guess he should loose his lawyers then if he wants to do the bible's bidding.
