  1. The Hungarian guy is absolutely shocked there are gays in the theatre and opera-- something must be done!

Well, we now have Candidate # 1 for this week's Dumbest Person on the Planet.

  2. If you take gays out the theatre, there will be no theatre. What an idiot!

  3. NPH is one classy guy. And he's smart enough to know that David Burtka is quite a catch. I hope he gets his time in the spotlight, too. I think they're an awesome pair.

  4. NPH flaunting his sexuality to a predominantly female audience will backfire on him. Heterosexual women are threatened by gay male affection and this will be reflected in the future roles (or lack thereof) he receives on the future.

  5. The teacher in Louisiana was given a 1 million dollar bond. People suspected of murder can get less.

  8. The Pope story was also contributed as TIME magazine piece. Get the story, look it up elsewhere is a common journalistic device. :)

  9. I saw "Maleficent" at the new IPIC theater in Westwood. If you get a chance check it out. The height of movie going experience.

  10. I hope the sicko in Louisiana gets life in prison. How disgusting that Towleroad has been pushing the party line that "people with HIV shouldn't be criminalized." People with HIV are not criminalized. No one has ever been arrested or charged with having HIV. What is criminalized is the knowing or intentional transmission of the virus or the failure to disclose to a partner. Screw Towleroad and screw Lambda Legal for trying to legalize sociopathic behavior.

  11. @Ermie: if you read the article Towleroad linked to, a lot of details are missing. Aside from the "sicko" denying the accusations (whose validity we don't know at this point as no evidence has been publicly presented), even what sort of sexual activity was allegedly involved is not stated. For example, if the student got a blow job while wearing a condom, the risk of HIV transmission could be effectively zero, and would be pretty low even without the condom. Unprotected anal sex, of course, is a totally different case.

My advise: withhold judgment until all the facts are available.

  13. Actually, the first item should say '120 gay Cook County, IL couples ...' because that was the total for the day in just Cook County.

  14. Umm, the news about Ronald Reagan worrying that son Ron was gay is hardly news. That was widely known in the 80s, and Ron has mentioned it many times.

  15. I swear to God I just saw a New Yorker cartoon about The Scream on a tree stump.

As far as the Pope's comment is concerned, at least you don't have to pay the tuition money to send your pet to college!
