Jon Stewart Tells Texas GOP to 'Sniff Sh-t' for Support of Gay Reparative Therapy: VIDEO

On last night's Daily Show, Jon Stewart noted that one of the suggested "therapies" to stop someone from being gay is "ordering someone to bottle their feces and sniff it" whenever they are attracted to a man.

Stewart suggests that the Texas Republican party use that therapy to cure themselves of their idiocy:

"Being gay is not a choice. But being a texas Republican is. So my advice is the next time you feel the urge to be a Texas Republican - to replace science textbooks with pictures of humans riding dinosaurs or ban same sex marriage, or put on [a stuffed elephant] hat, sh-t in a jar and sniff it! It won't cure you but do it anyway. Hopefully it will remind you of what a**holes you're being."

  1. Are you supposed to carry the jar around with you? Or just when you're watching gay porn? No wonder those guys are always found in a toilet stall. That is some serious fetish training. No wonder louie gomert always has that expression.

  2. Sexual feelings are not a choice but they don't have to be acted upon. The choice can be made between the feeling and the behavior to choose to act or not act upon the feeling.

Environment plays a big role in the behavioral choices that men make. For instance, many straight-identifying men can turn to homosexual behavior in the absence of women.

  3. I had a parakeet named Petey when I was a kid.

He was a little smarter though.

  5. Thank you, once again, Jon Stewart & The Daily Show for parading the idiocy.

Other networks reported Perry's statements, but as regular news. It should have been reported as a "Well, you're not gonna believe this segment."

Maybe ABC should send John Quinones to Texas.

  7. What pseudo-scientific crap will Petey pull next out of his butt? That homosexuality is actually an expression of discomfort around the opposite sex?

  8. Once upon a time there was a political party just for people who were both nasty and stupid, unfortunately it seems to be living happily ever after.

  9. Petey?... WTF are you babbling about?...so prison sex is excusable and actually understandable because of the absence of women?...Is it that simple?......As far as my experience with religion goes, I was told not asked, to accept Jesus unconditionally. It seemed rather harsh to me as a kid. Somehow things get twisted around don't they?. I wasn't ALLOWED to not accept Jesus..there was no choice for me.

  10. Petey is just parroting Rick Perry. Gay men can marry women and lesbians can marry men. It was almost the norm many years ago. The simple question is why should anyone do that now? The same with why a straight man wants to engage in gay sex if you are not a SeanCody model or in prison?

  11. You could doesn't mean you should.

  12. The poop in a jar thing is more likely to make people have a fetish for smelling poop in a jar. These therapies can really screw people up.

  13. Petey, making stupid comments on the internet is also a choice.

  14. Straight white Southern Christian males are what's wrong with this country.
