    Well, that's not quite right. It's Lamb, the number one source of greenhouse gas emissions with 39.2 kg of carbon dioxide equivalents for each kilo eaten. Beef ranked second on the list of greenhouse gas emissions with 27.0 kg. TOTAL emissions may be higher for beef because of consumption, but not per pound.
