Megyn Kelly Invites on Hate Leader Tony Perkins More Than All Other Fox News Hosts Combined: VIDEO

A new report by Media Matters finds Fox News personality Megyn Kelly guilty of inviting on anti-gay hate group leader Tony Perkins more than all other network programs combined.

According to the report, Kelly's shows account for 17 of Perkins' 30 Fox News appearances since the end of the 2012 GOP primary season.

Media Matters adds:

But these numbers don't fully account for Kelly's role in whitewashing the anti-LGBT animus that motivates Perkins' and FRC's work. She's described FRC as "a group whose mission is to advance faith, family, and freedom in public policy and culture from a Christian worldview." And Kelly has repeatedly peddled Perkins' own talking points - suggesting that "Christian beliefs and Christian rights" are being trampled as LGBT rights are ascendant, charging gay rights activists with being intolerant, lamenting that it must be "alienating" for Perkins to be criticized for his anti-LGBT views.

  1. You know, it's the biggest of all the differences between Canada and the USA.

An LGBT issue is raised, who do the Canadian networks invite on to talk about it? Gay people and our allies.
The US, for some unfathomable reason, continues to put unrepentant bigots on the air, as if it promotes "fair discourse"

it doesn't. you don't invite the KKK to talk about black history month, and a prejudiced bigot who seethes anti-gay animus should not be given credence - should not be invited to spew their hate on the air. it's disgusting and it LOWERS the national discourse!

  2. I'd say Ms Megyn has serious issues. And let's don't even start on poor pitiful Perkins.

  3. Wonder if Miss Megyn wants to blow Perkins. Bet she'd be surprised how soft on that idea he'd turn out to be.

  4. Faux Nooze knows that the Christianists who are big part of the GOP expect to have a seat at the table of any and all discussions regarding social issues in the United States as they will never surrender their daffy notion that the Buy-bull is more important than that silly old document called the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

  5. I spend a lot of the year in the USA.
Only last night I was saying that the religious fundamentalism of the USA is unknown in Europe.
Sure, there are skinheads, anti Semites, right wing nuts, but they are marginalised.........but here they are given prominent air time, they are treated as if they, the extreme right , Perkins et al are rational.

SKY, Fox's counterpart in the UK, would not get away with this garbage of having on Perkins with his hate speech disguised as Family support. It would not be tolerated by English viewers. As for Megan Kelly, she's just another shrill harpie trying to burnish how tough she is.
    She's all blah, blah, blah.

  8. She is a host of hateful show, she is a hateful woman, so I am not surprised at all.

  9. I wonder why America and Canada are so different when it comes to gay rights and hate speech. this would never be tolerated here. And yet all that separates us is an invisible border. We share (mostly) the same language and culture, education and yet we are so different when it comes to our values.

  10. Hey it's Fox News. What do you expect? The only thing they love more than homophobia is Israeli tank shells blowing up Palestinian children.

  11. It's really the producers that invite the guests, not the hosts.

Europe has plenty of wackos of all stripes and anti-Semitic discourse is treated like fact, so they have their own problems.

  12. She likes having hate f'd into her.

  13. She's into bossy assholes. Remember when Karl Rove made her question the Fox pollsters during election coverage? There's a reason she's working for that particular network.

  14. Ms. Kelly, like every other media whore, on the left and the right,is trying to make a name for herself and she will play to her audience. Of course Fox is slanted conservative and MSNBC, CNN and the big three are slanted left, we should not be surprised.
A lot of people will disagree with me, but I have said it before, it is never good to completely silence your foe. It is a very good idea to know your enemy and where they are at all times, that way they can't sneak up on you.
We have made enormous strides lately and we are winning and they are losing, let's not lose sight of victory.

  15. I've said it before many times, and I'll say it again now.

There is NO valid counter-argument when it comes to equal civil and human rights for GLBT people. None whatsoever. Doesn't matter what it's based on, whether it's pseudoscience, cultural whatevers, historical intertia, or religion (and it's always religion, at its core). It's invalid.

We Americans are either equal under the civil law or we're not. There's no in-between. If we're not, then say so and let's stop crowing about the land of the free.

  16. Come on, give poor FOX a break, it's got a slavering demographic of mouth-breathing cannibals to feed.

  17. What else can we expect from Faux News?

  18. 'and MSNBC, CNN and the big three are slanted left'
Yeah its funny how truth and facts have that liberal (left) bias.
Total false equivalency there. FOX is run by Murdoch's ideology paid for with his fortune, all others have share holders and advertisers to answer to.

    Posted by: KevinSF | Aug 8, 2014 6:07:16 PM

  19. KevinInSF: Yes, exactly. MSNBC is mostly consciously liberal, but the others are not. And MSNBC is not liberal the way Fox is conservative. Chris Matthews makes no secret that he is a liberal Democrat for example, and he has the previous Republican national chairman on all the time. Rachel Maddow makes no secret of being a liberal feminist lesbian Democrat, and she has people on all the time who are in the middle of some news event, summarizes the issue, then asks them if she got it right.
