Two gay men were brutally beaten in the Bay Area on the night of June 9, and police are urging gay men to travel in groups, ABC7 reports.
Scott Long, an LGBTQ activist, was struck multiple times with what he believes was a tire iron while walking at 35th Avenue and Kansas Street in Oakland, and required surgery to reconstruct his jaw and cheekbone. Tim Tait, who also goes by his drag name, Ginger Snap, was punched, kicked, and dragged after leaving The Eagle South of Market street.
