Allen West: Obama Feeding America 'a Crap Sandwich' with a Smile - VIDEO

West

Said Rep. Allen West (R-FL) on Saturday:

“Let’s be very honest and let’s put this in military vernacular, if you’re feeding a person a crap sandwich with a smile, it’s still a crap sandwich. That’s what you see coming from President Obama. He’s fed America just a load of you know what and it’s not done anything for this country other than increasing our unemployment, increasing Americans in poverty, increasing the food stamp rolls, and we’re heading in the wrong direction."

In that case, what's West (R-FL) serving for lunch?

Allen West Explains That Workplace Discrimination Doesn't Exist: VIDEO

WestTP
Gay people seem to make Allen West uncomfortable.

The freshman legislator from Florida's 22nd congressional district was approached in Washington on Thursday by Think Progress, and asked whether he might support legislation that would make it "illegal to hire or fire people because they're gay."

His response:

That don't happen out here in the United States of America.

Asked to clarify, he said:

Well, I don’t see that as being a big issue with small businesses. I sit on the Small Business Committee. You know what they’re concerned about? They’re concerned about onerous tax policy, regulatory policy, and lack of access to capital because Dodd-Frank is absolutely decimating small community banks.

... which doesn't clarify anything. Those small businesses inclined to fire a person based upon sexual orientation wouldn't be concerned with legislation curtailing that behavior, would they?

West always does this. When faced with a question of LGBT rights, he pretends that the question means something it doesn't, or imagines that the subject under discussion is something it isn't. When DADT was debated last year, he pretended its repeal would legalize sex in military barracks. Last August, he told Fort Lauderdale's Sun Sentinel that "sexuality is a behavior," and therefore mutable -- and when asked if gays should therefore change their sexuality, he said this:

You know, I like chocolate chip ice cream. And I will continue to like chocolate chip ice cream. So, there's no worry about me changing to vanilla. I like to, you know, ride my motorcycle. What do you want me to do, change my behavior and ride a scooter?

Rep. Allen West Believes 80 Democratic Congressmen are Card-Carrying Communists: VIDEO

Rep. Allen West (R-FL) spoke to a group of Florida voters last night and said he thinks that 80 Democratic congressmen belong to the Communist Party:

WestLater Tuesday evening, a Jensen Beach crowd of 100 with more than 15 protesters greeted the congressman with mixed support, cheers and jeers.

The conservative tea party icon also got in shots at Democrats and President Obama, who spoke Tuesday at Florida Atlantic University. West said Obama was "scared" to have a discussion with him. He later said "he's heard" up to 80 U.S. House Democrats are Communist Party members, but wouldn't name names.

West was recently reported to be on a short list for Romney's running mate.

Rep. Allen West Tells Obama, Pelosi, Reid and Democrats to 'Get the Hell Out' of America: VIDEO

West

Rep. Allen West (R-FL), who has appeared on Towleroad for his anti-gay statements regarding marriage, Don't Ask, Don't Tell, and his views that homosexuality is a behavior like choosing an ice cream flavor or riding a scooter, was speaking before the Palm Beach Republican Party over the weekend.

West trashed the "Democrat" party, telling Obama and progressive leaders to "get the hell out" of America:

"This is a battlefield, that we must stand upon. We need to let President Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, (audience boos) and my dear friend the chairman of the Democrat National Committee, we need to let them know that Florida ain't on the table. Take your message of equality of achievement, take your message of economic dependency, take your message of enslaving the entrepreneurial will and spirit of the American people somewhere else. You can take it to Europe, you can take it to the bottom of the sea, you can take it to the North Pole, but get the hell out of the United States of America...Yeah, I said 'hell'"

Congressman Allen West Defends Remarks Comparing Homosexuality to Choosing an Ice Cream Flavor

In an interview earlier this week with Florida's Sun-Sentinel, Congressman Allen West insisted homosexuality is a behavior and compared it to choosing an ice cream flavor or riding a scooter.

Allen_west "You cannot compare me and my race to a behavior. Sexuality is a behavior. I cannot change my color. People can change their sexual behavior. I've seen people do that. I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. So Ive seen a very different perspective on human behaviors. That's where I'm coming from with that. Everyone has the same basic rights. And no one is telling people in the gay community that they don't have the same basic rights that anyone in America has."

When asked if he thinks gay people should change their behavior, West responded:

"No. I don't think that. You know, I like chocolate chip ice cream. And I will continue to like chocolate chip ice cream. So, there's no worry about me changing to vanilla. I like to, you know, ride my motorcycle. What do you want me to do, change my behavior and ride a scooter?"

Yesterday, after being condemned by Rep. Lois Frankel for the remarks, West insisted they were taken out of context, and defended them, adding an attack on the repeal of "Dont' Ask, Don't Tell".

"I think that what I said was that is behavior. And so what I talked about is, I prefer, I like chocolate chip ice cream. And I'm not going against what someone prefers as their behavioral preference in their life. But when you start to understand about the United States military. The United States military serves one mission and that is to fight and win our nation's wars and if we start to take the military and try to conform it to individual behaviors no matter what those individual behaviors are we're going to lose the essence of what the United States military is."
