'Call Me Maybe' Goes Symphonic: VIDEO

Perhaps you don't need to hear another version of Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" again, but do. Just one more. AFTER THE JUMP, find a gorgeous, and -- maybe this is just me -- somehow melancholic, fully orchestral, end-of-summer take on the season's infectingest, saccharinest hit.

From the NY Daily News:

Colin Britt and Arianne Abela arranged a full-on orchestral rendition of the song replete with glockenspiels, violas and violins.

"Like everyone, I have heard this song a lot for the entire summer," Britt told the Daily News. "And I, like everyone—whether they want to admit it or not—have the guilty pleasure of enjoying it."

Britt got an idea to record a version from the string riff that appears during each chorus ... The arrangers sent invitations to classically trained musicians near New Haven, Conn. to perform a pop song, but didn't tell them the specific song until they arrived.

Sixty-some-odd musicians showed up. They dubbed themselves the 3Penny Chorus and Orchestra, and they rocked.

U.S. Marines Stationed in Afghanistan Do 'Call Me Maybe': VIDEO

It's not over yet, folks.

Raum and his longtime friend Randy Moresi, both employees with the nonprofit United Service Organizations (USO), came up with a plan. They were going to ask the service members on base to do a group lip-dub, to the tune of Jepsen's mega-hit.

The idea was to show troops in a more positive, light-hearted way, away from the controversies that have dogged the U.S. mission for the past several months. In February, for instance, U.S. troops "mistakenly" burned copies of the Quran at a U.S. base near Kabul, setting off nationwide protests and riots that left dozens dead. A month earlier, a leaked video online showed Marines urinating on Afghan corpses.

"It's a side of the military that you don't get to see," Raum says of the project. "Showing the human side on the other side of the rifles is a great opportunity."

The Gotye 'Call Me Maybe' Mash-Up That May Break the Internet: VIDEO

Perhaps we've seen way too much of these tunes this summer already, but those of you thinking that a collision of these tracks might make your head explode (or feel like a glass of cold water thrown in your face) may be pleasantly surprised by this mash-up, rearranged and performed by pop duo Pomplamoose.

You may recall the group's version of the "Angry Birds" theme song.
