Ted Nugent, Who Threatened Obama at the NRA Convention Last Year, to Attend 'State of the Union' Address

Congressman Steve Stockman has given one of his gallery tickets for the State of the Union address to rocker Ted Nugent, a staunch gun rights activist whose remarks at the NRA convention last year — "If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year" — prompted a Secret Service investigation.

Said Stockman: "I am excited to have a patriot like Ted Nugent joining me in the House Chamber to hear from President Obama. After the address I'm sure Ted will have plenty to say."

Nugent tweeted on Monday afternoon: "well well well, there will be a freedom addicted all American uppity Motown guitarplayer facing the POTUS at the SOTU addresss tomoro-lovely"

And the Fox News host doesn't treat him with kid gloves. The two discuss the controversial NRA ad that criticizes the Secret Service protection President Obama's daughters receive at their school. Wallace does not take too kindly to LaPierre's defense of the clip, which first aired last month.

Wallace says to LaPierre: "Do you really think that the President's children are the same kind of target as every schoolchild in America? I think that's ridiculous, and you know it, sir."

Sen. Lamar Alexander: Video Games a Bigger Problem Than Guns - VIDEO

Because "video games affect people."

Writes Jed Lewison: "To repeat, those words came from the lips of a United States Senator. A Republican United States Senator, to be precise. Supposedly, he's one of the brightest bulbs in the Senate Republican conference. The first President Bush thought he was so smart that he appointed him to be Secretary of Education for the entire nation. And yet despite (or perhaps because of) these illustrious credentials, Lamar Alexander babbles forth this nonsense without the slightest hint of embarrassment or self-doubt."

With the assistance of her husband Mark Kelly, Gabby Giffords traveled to D.C. to deliver a profoundly powerful opening statement at the Senate Judiciary Committee's hearing on gun violence.

Said Giffords:

"Thank you for inviting me here today. This is an important conversation for our children, for our communities, for Democrats and Republicans. Speaking is difficult, but I need to say something important. Violence is a big problem. Too many children are dying. Too many children. We must do something. It will be hard, but the time is now.
