Giffords

Former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly appear in a new ad released Monday by the Americans for Responsible Solutions PAC (launched last week by Giffords and Kelly) which will run this week in a six-figure ad buy on television and online, CNN reports.

Says Giffords: "We have a problem. Where we shop; where we pray; where our children go to school. But there are solutions we can agree on, even gun owners like us. Take it from me: Congress must act."

FOX News Features Assault Weapon as Illustration of Backlash Against Obama's 'Gay Scoutmaster Stance'

Chris Wallace Takes On The NRA's Wayne LaPierre

Lapierre
And the Fox News host doesn't treat him with kid gloves. The two discuss the controversial NRA ad that criticizes the Secret Service protection President Obama's daughters receive at their school. Wallace does not take too kindly to LaPierre's defense of the clip, which first aired last month.

Wallace says to LaPierre: "Do you really think that the President's children are the same kind of target as every schoolchild in America? I think that's ridiculous, and you know it, sir."

Sen. Lamar Alexander: Video Games a Bigger Problem Than Guns - VIDEO

Alexander

Because "video games affect people."

Writes Jed Lewison: "To repeat, those words came from the lips of a United States Senator. A Republican United States Senator, to be precise. Supposedly, he's one of the brightest bulbs in the Senate Republican conference. The first President Bush thought he was so smart that he appointed him to be Secretary of Education for the entire nation. And yet despite (or perhaps because of) these illustrious credentials, Lamar Alexander babbles forth this nonsense without the slightest hint of embarrassment or self-doubt."

Former Rep. Gabby Giffords Tells Senate Panel 'We Must Do Something' About Gun Violence: VIDEO

Giffords

With the assistance of her husband Mark Kelly, Gabby Giffords traveled to D.C. to deliver a profoundly powerful opening statement at the Senate Judiciary Committee's hearing on gun violence.

Said Giffords:

"Thank you for inviting me here today. This is an important conversation for our children, for our communities, for Democrats and Republicans. Speaking is difficult, but I need to say something important. Violence is a big problem. Too many children are dying. Too many children. We must do something. It will be hard, but the time is now. You must act. Be bold, be courageous. Americans are counting on you. Thank you."

Some people are asking me questions like this is a more shocking subject, which is so strange," he said.

1NewsIcon A review of James Franco's Interior Leather Bar, an homage to the graphic gay sex cut from the controversial gay classic Cruisin': "Interior Leather Bar does contain one very graphic sex scene - a tender encounter between two men we are told are a real-life couple, which seems to be entirely against the film's idea of re-queering gay sex. And in general it's much more about talking about sex than actually showing it, which also makes its claims toward provocation a little weaker."
