There’s some eye-opening news unfolding over at DailyKos, where it’s been discovered that Jeff Gannon, aka Jim Guckert, a conservative “reporter” for Talon News Service, owns numerous domain names, including jeffgannon.com, Hotmilitarystud.com, Militaryescorts.com, and Militaryescortsm4m.com and an allegedly legit shirtless AOL profile.
Why does it matter? Site Media Matters accuses Gannon of being a plant and lobbing soft questions in order to steer press secretary Scott McClellan away from difficult topics when other reporters hit him hard regarding Iraq and the proposed marriage amendment. A hypocrite mole in the press corps? We’ll see how this develops.

UPDATE: Jeff Gannon abruptly retires from Talon News.
Rep. Louise Slaughter (NY) requests investigation: “…And just this morning we have learned that “Mr. Gannon” has resigned his post at the, so called, Talon News amid growing concerns over his controversial background and falsified qualifications. In fact, it appears that “Mr. Gannon’s” presence in the White House press corps was merely as a tool of propaganda for your Administration.”
UPDATE: Gannon had the only known access to a memo referred to in an interview with Joseph Wilson, which named his wife Valerie Plame as a covert CIA agent.
