I haven’t heard anything new regarding the gay bashings in Fort Lauderdale I posted about briefly late on Friday afternoon.

However, the following is from an email forwarded to Towleroad written by a “community activist” in the Fort Lauderdale area. I don’t have confirmation on the validity of the claims in the email, but given the reported activity from last week, folks in that area should definitely keep their eyes open.

“Hello Guys, I have some information to pass alone to you from an Officer for Broward County Police Department. Following is an excerpt from our e-mail from him. ‘Seems we got a group of 4-5 white male cruising the Victoria Park, Lakeridge, 4th Ave area and cubby hole areas with a pitbull that get their jollies off pounding the shit out of gay males! Apparently they use the dog in the attacks. They put THREE guys in the hospital last night alone! I guess one of the victims is in bad shape. Please pass this along to the member to be EXTREMELY careful when out and about. My friend asked me to get this out to as many guys as I could and to ask anyone who spots these guys to contact the police department IMMEDIATELY. apparently these guys are in a small two door white vehicle, possibly a Pontiac, but not sure. One of the victims last night had his skull and face crushed!’ Again we have heard from the police department and there where [sic] 2 more attacks in Wilton Manors. We are keeping in contact to see how things are going.”
