Sneeze and you would have missed the glorified press conference that was this year's Golden Globes. More entertaining is this great montage of the year's best dramas. If it hasn't been a good year for awards shows or writers it has certainly produced a decent crop of dramatic films. Enjoy it, set to “Falling Slowly” from the indie singer/songwriter musical Once…
And as for the Golden Globes…
The big winners were Atonement for Best Motion Picture (Drama), Sweeney Todd for Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy), The Diving Bell and The Butterfly for Best Foreign Film with Julian Schnabel taking the Best Director Globe. Daniel Day Lewis won as Best Actor (Drama) for There Will Be Blood, Julie Christie won Best Actress (Drama) for Away from Her. No Country for Old Men (personally, my favorite film of the year) won for Best Screenplay.
Mad Men and Extras won for Best Dramatic and Comedy Series, respectively, in the TV category.
