In a new interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network in advance of his weekend prayer rally The Response, CBN makes a big deal about Texas Governor Rick Perry's belief in states' rights, except for marriage and abortion.

The Washington Post yesterday noted the difficutly Perry will have on staking out both sides of the issue with regard to states' rights:
Lately, Perry has come under fire for commenting that New York's decision to legalize gay marriage was “fine by me.” “You can't believe in the 10th Amendment for a few issues and then [for] something that doesn't suit you say, ‘We'd rather not have states decide that,” he noted.
— he can't have his cake and eat it too.

In related news, after some uncertainty about his ultimate involvement in The Response, Talking Points Memo writes that Perry has recommitted himself to the religious right and will host the event.
Meanwhile, the woman in charge of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma Church Mobilization for Perry's The Response prayer rally says the Democratic party is controlled by demons.
