A new Canadian PSA tells a story of a helicopter dad and his gay son to make a point about voting in the country's upcoming election.
In the ad, the gay son browses dating app Tinder hoping to find a match when his DILF of a father shows up and commandeers the phone, and takes over swiping for his son. “Judging people is fun,” he says. After a swipe to the right, a Tinder date appears. Sorta.
It turns out, our overbearing father of a gay son matched with an overbearing mother of a gay son.
The PSA concludes with the message, “You wouldn't let your parents swipe right for you on Tinder. Why would you let them vote for you?” Solid advice. So Canadians, remember to vote on October 19.
