Miami Beach Pride
While typically held in April, the iconic Miami Beach Pride Week is making its return this fall, Sept. 10-19. Stay hydrated for this jam-packed week of fabulous programming, including a queer art pop-up showcase (Sept. 13), Miss Miami Beach Pride Drag Competition (Sept. 14), Haus of Pride Voguing Ball (Sept. 16) and lots more. Of course, the best is saved for last with Miami's famed Pride Festival on Saturday and Pride Parade on Sunday. Try not to get too distracted by the throngs of eye candy, and you'll see stars. Gloria Estefan, Iggy Azalea, Betty Who, Adam Lambert have all been past featured celebs.
Celebrate ORGULLO
Pack your heels, lashes and wigs for this year's Celebrate ORGULLO, Oct. 1-15. Miami's Hispanic & Indigenous Pride Festival is hailing the queens with this year's theme, “The Art of Ilusión: How the Art of Drag, Creativity, Talent and Self-Expression Influence Our Daily Lives.” Starting as Miami's first Hispanic LGBT Pride Festival in 2011, the now two-week celebration is a great place for a taste of the city's diversity (sometimes literally). There's plenty of food, drink and entertainment, but also the chance to feed your mind with art and workshops. Plus, a portion of proceeds benefit an LGBT Scholarship Fund and year round programming of the sponsoring organization, Unity Coalition.
