E3 News 2021: Just Dance 2022
Ubisoft's long-running dance series is back for 2022, and its bringing notable gay dancer, choreographer, musician and Youtuber Todrick Hall into the mix. Hall featured during Ubisoft's presentation, announcing that the game will include an exclusive version of his single “Nails. Hair. Hips. Heels.”
E3 News 2021: Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan
Rainbow is in the name. Could it be any more obvious? “Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan” drops players into a world whose color has been sucked dry, and Billy must use the power of kindness to re-colorize the world and save its adorable inhabitants. The game features numerous LGBTQ characters, including multiple nonbinary characters, a rarity in games.
Forza Horizon 5
It may seem weird to include Xbox's uber-popular driving series on this list, but “Forza Horizon 5” gets a spot here for providing inclusivity options in a game where player characters typically feel like an afterthought. The game's character creator will provide pronoun options for players when building out their driver before firmly planting them behind the wheel of any of the game's vast vehicle library.
E3 News 2021: The Outer Worlds 2
Another big name to pop up during the Xbox/Bethesda presentation was the first word that Obsidian Entertainment's action RPG “The Outer Worlds” is getting a sequel. Literally nothing is known about the new title at this point, but its safe to say that LGBTQ characters will be in the game. The first game featured multiple queer characters and made waves for its depiction of asexuality in fan-favorite companion Parvarti.
