Kevin Aviance, whose gay bashing two weeks ago ignited a firestorm of protest and brought renewed national attention to violence against gays, will make an appearance on Fifth Avenue in NYC this weekend.
He tells Page Six: “I am getting my mouth unwired for one day, so that I can be done up for the Gay Pride Day Parade on Sunday. They also report that he received phone calls from Janet Jackson, Tyra Banks, Gayle King and Deborah Cox after the attack.
Aviance told the Daily News that he's been on a liquid diet since the incident and doesn't expect to be singing or dancing until October, but that won't stop him from being visible: “People need to see you, and know you made it out. I'm just going to sit on top of the float. You take a chance, you get yourself dressed up, you go out. Not everybody is going to understand you. I live for what I do.”
And this weekend, he'll be riding in “cunty” fashion no doubt, atop local glossy HX‘s giant pink elephant float.
