road.jpg Honolulu Star Bulletin blasts non-vote on Hawaii same-sex union legislation: "More than 400 people submitted written or oral testimony on the bill and deserved the courtesy of a committee vote on the issue. Committee Chairman Tommy Waters' later said he chose not to call for a vote because most committee members opposed the bill, and he wanted to leave open the possibility of a compromise. That seems highly unlikely, given the strident polarization on the issue...The muzzling of the legislation by the Judiciary Committee was an affront to gay couples, who deserve a recorded vote and an explanation for the rejection of the measure."

road.jpg Ex-boyfriend sighting inspires Lance Bass to dash for the door at West Hollywood Oscar party.

Stantonroad.jpg Florida city manager fired over sex-change operation: "Steve Stanton professed his love for the city and asked the people of Largo to support his decision to undergo a sex change and allow him to keep his $140,000-a-year job as city manager. To his sorrow, the answer came back no. Almost 500 people packed City Hall on Tuesday night for a special meeting to decide if they would accept someone named Susan instead of Steve as their top official. And while many spoke eloquently in his defense, more called for his ouster."

road.jpg Not only was the principal dealing meth from his office, cops apparently found him naked playing with sex toys and watching gay porn. No doubt the Fundies will have a field day with this one.

road.jpg The Dallas/Ft. Worth area is getting a really gay radio station.

road.jpg Germany says they are ready to join the space race: " The head of the German Space Programme (DLR), Walter Doellinger, told the Financial Times Deutschland that it would be ready by 2013 to send an unmanned space shuttle to orbit the earth's only natural satellite."

  1. **shameless plug alert** I'm a member of the NYC Gay Men's Chorus -- should be a great show! Thanks for the plug Andy!

  2. METH PRINCIPAL -- Yeah, Andy, the fundies will predictably make hay of this.

    BUT...

The sad thing is the gays won't. Sadly, the gay "community" doesn't seem to be ready to rage against meth enough to make it stop.

    Very sad.

Until we fight that shit from within, we'll get hammered from without.

  3. More evidence that Dallas is one of the best places in America to be gay.

  4. As a man who is afflicted with same-sex attraction disorder but does not subscribe to the "gay" agenda, don't you think incidents like this give credence to the "fudies" arguments? The sad thing is this tiype of behavior is typical of the gay community and needs to be outed so that mainstream America can see the gay lifestyle as it truly is.

  5. Okay... how soon until the principal claims to be straight and enters rehab? "The meth made me gay!"

On "Second Life"... good lord. This is like talking about the virtues of "Grand Theft Auto" or the like. People who spend just too damn much time in front of these blasted PC's, instead of...

The NYC GMC! Way to go! Congratulations!

As for the tranny in Largo. IT'S FLORIDUH, people. Accepting? NOT. I lived there. I know the morons in that state and that region.

  6. Largo, Florida is wrong in firing Stanton. It's discrimination pure and simple.

Meth and all illicit drug use is bad. Don't get into that stuff. It takes a toll on your health and looks.

  7. More details about the American Taliban mob in Largo, Florida, who succeeded in getting a respected city manager fired for being transgender. I swear I'll never understand why intelligent LGBTs and others stay in this Trolyditic state.

''If Jesus was here tonight, I can guarantee you he'd want him terminated,'' said Pastor Ron Saunders of Largo's Lighthouse Baptist Church. ''Make no mistake about it.'' Another "Chritian" preacher came all the way from Kentucky to participate in the crucifixion.

I urge every one to call or write the Reverend Saunders and tell him what YOU think Jesus would do:
    727-585-3099
    10539 122ND AVENUE, LARGO FL 34643

I thought the treatment of San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom’s personal mistakes was outrageous, but papers in the swamp that is Florida can be worse. One recklessly “outed” Stanton. Here is THEIR OWN shameless description of the chain of events:

“[On] Feb. 21, the [St. Petersburg] Times reported that Stanton was undergoing hormone therapy in preparation for gender-reassignment surgery - a plan known only to a small circle of people, including his wife, medical team and a few top officials at City Hall. Stanton and his friends had written an eight-page plan to help make his decision known in June, when he said his 13-year-old son could be out of town and shielded from the publicity. Instead, the news came out before he told his son. Outraged residents swarmed commissioners, demanding he be ousted.”

Tell them what you think of them at:
    http://www.sptimes.com/letters/

Videos, and pics of Tuesday night’s shame, including LGBT activist Nadine Smith on the ground with four cops on top of her at the link below. As a woman of color I suppose she and we should be thankful they didn’t shoot her to death.

    http://www.sptimes.com/2007/02/28/Tampabay/Largo_officials_vote_.shtml

Absurdly, one does apparently need a permit to distribute leaflets in Largo’s City Hall where PUBLIC meetings are held, but topping that are the additional reasons given by Largo police spokesman Mac McMullen for why they arrested Smith. “Fliers present a fire hazard; plus, when they end up on the floor, people can slip on them, McMullen said.” Read that again slowly: they’re a FIRE hazard and people MIGHT SLIP ON THEM!

Smith’s charges include a FELONY and she had to post $5,250 bail to be released yesterday, still facing possible conviction.

  8. JOE: You need help. You are "afflicted" with same sex attraction? lol wow, self hate is the greatest love of all. By typical you must be referring to the Principal story. HHAHAHAHAHA

The last time I checked, i don't use crystal meth, I don't know any one who does, and the gay friends I do have don't shut themselves in for an all day meth fest with porn and sex toys. Apparently you must as you claim this behavior is "typical". I feel sorry for you, really, I do. The fact is that behavior is indicative of drug abuse and emotional problems, not homosexuality (plenty of straight men have done similar things). If he has any emotional and mental disturbances, I'm certain it stems from the self-loathing due to a society that rejects him for being homosexual, much like what you are experiencing. I sincerely hope you are seeking help, and not the "Ted Haggard" kind of help, but from an actual licensed therapist or psychiatrist.

    >be ready by 2013 to send an
    >unmanned space shuttle to orbit
    >the earth's only natural satellite."

OH YEAH?! Well we're sending a satellite to orbit your satellite while it orbits the natural satellite.

  10. Why's it gotta specify that it was "GAY" pornography. I bet the report would not have added descriptors had it been HETERO pornography or LATINA pornography or LATEX pornography. but in an attempt to make it shocking and salicious the reporter felt the need to indirectly point out the SHOCKING ADDITIONAL FACT that the principal of a middle school is gay.

where's GLAAD when you need them?

    Posted by: Matt | Mar 2, 2007 2:16:33 PM

  11. ...oooh for shame principal methface, but hardly surprising...tina is quite well known for causing severe and skincrawlingly intense horniness, uninhibited nakedness, longlasting and uninhibited sex buzzzzzzes, boners and binges...whooo, the getting up is easy, it's the coming down that's hard, whew...especially not in time enough to go to and try and function properly at your day job, that's probably why principal glasspipe got popped naked as a jay bird inside his office lost in a porn trance...he lost all track of time and thought he was still working the night shift, lol...oh well, give me liberty or give me meth...nah, right?!

  12. "this tiype of behavior is typical of the gay community "

Go easy on poor Joe. He spelled "type", "tiype" because he was typing with one hand and beating off to the DNA ad on the sidebar of this page.

    Posted by: mark m | Mar 2, 2007 3:51:17 PM

  13. Well, Matt, I suspect that GLAAD is wisely out of the office, unreachable and on a vacation without a cell phone on this one.

While I agree that the addition of the world "gay" seems to be piling on, as a donor to GLAAD I would be a little perturbed to see it taking on this particular story. Middle school. Principal. Meth. Porn. Naked in his office. Drug sales. Sex toys. Just don't see the upside in yelling a lot about how unfair it is to mention that the porn was gay. As the song says "you've gotta know when to hold 'em and know when to fold 'em."

Joe, you don't have to enjoy or act on your homosexual feelings if you don't want to, but PLEASE go find some good (e.g., not anti-gay mind programming) therapy so as to at least find a way to be comfortable with yourself.

  14. Your report of the gay-themed "radio station" in Dallas is somewhat misleading; the station will only be broadcast on the secondary "HD" channel which all radio stations now have, and not over the traditional FM airwaves. Since few people have HD receivers, and therefore few can hear the broadcasts, cynical companies like Clear Channel have taken to creating attention-grabbing "formats" on their second channels in order to gain publicity. They are taking little risk since while no real numbers exists for HD "ratings," most in the industry realize the audience is miniscule. While it may seem enlightened for the company to create this PRIDE format, it should not be reported as a "new radio station" as most people would think of one.

  15. I urge everyone to consider whether John Edwards doesn't deserve your vote for President.

I support him because I think he's the best candidate.

Let's do our best as a community to ensure that the GOP keeps its minority status in Congress and is ousted from the Whitehouse.

Oh and Joe give in to that same-sex attraction disorder or whatever. You'll be glad you did.

  16. Re STANTON: I think he's got a heck of a lawsuit - check out the law on my blog http://jweissdiary.blogspot.com And in a society with separation of church and state, why is what Jesus would say any more relevant than what Buddha or Ahura Mazda would say?

  17. I happen to know this principle and he is a good and decent man who became very troubled and an addict. HIs being gay is not that big of an issue in the local press he has been out for much of his career. Letters to the editor have been very sympathetic as well.
He needs our prayers and our expressions of kindness and our best wishes for recovery and redemption.
