Boy George Officially Charged for Imprisoning Male Escort
George O'Dowd is back in trouble.
Last April, Norwegian male escort Auden Carlsen claimed that pop star-DJ-fashion designer Boy George had met him on the dating site Gaydar and called him to his flat where George and another man chained him by a hook to a bed, took photos of him in "kinky gear", and threatened him with whips and sex toys. The male escort, Auden Carlsen, also claimed that he "only agreed to go to his flat at midnight as a £400 photographic model and not as an escort."
Now, George has been officially charged by Scotland Yard for false imprisonment of the 28-year-old man and must appear before the Thames Magistrate next week.
At the time, Carlsen said: "It’s ironic that his biggest hit was 'Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?' — because I’m sure he did want to hurt me. I was convinced I was going to die...George said he was popping out for milk at 5am. I heard him come back and I walked into his bedroom wearing just my white underpants and a T-shirt. I was jumped on by George and another man. George handcuffed me to a hook by the bed as they held me down."
Carlsen reportedly escaped by ripping the hook he was chained to from the wall, and fleeing the apartment to a nearby newsstand where he called police.
Last May, George's brother Kevin O'Dowd defended his sibling: "The bloke (Carlsen) has done a far bit of modelling for our clothes shop, so how can what he said be true? George isn't at all annoyed at the allegations, in fact, he thinks it's hilarious. Yeah, he was arrested, but the police are always going to follow it up when someone makes a complaint like that."
Apparently some legitimacy was discovered in that follow-up.

this is like the fifth "escort" scandal where i have to tilt my head and say "pay money to him? really?? are you serious?"

Anyway, you know the escort (photographic model? hahahahaha...) is gay when he mentions a Boy George song in his response. Why didn't he just say "When I was chained to the wall, I should've been a 'Karma Chameleon' so he wouldn't see me, get it, is this thing on?"

Critic, Boy's brother said they used him as a model for their clothes shop. So unless they only sell underwear, someone did hire him for his face (and body).
And that's weird.

@ JOHNOZED - Yeah, me too. For a split second I thought it said "Boy George Officially Charged for Impersonating a Male." Which actually makes more sense than the real one.
And on another note, sex workers get exploited and abused a lot. Because they sell sex, it is hard to get the criminal justice system to take any action at all when it happens.

Wheezy, how right you are. I had a really good friend who was a sex worker (and drop dead gorgeous at that) that ran into a lot of problems with abuse. You get treated like a piece of meat by the justice system as well.
I myself, though not a paid whore, (just a regular one) know all too well that the saying "You can't rape the willing" is NOT true...you can in fact. Been there as a victim myself. All it takes is a second when you want to stop and he doesn't.

Kenneth love, you're sounding a bit Chris Crocker-ish, but I understand you think George is getting railroaded because he's a celeb and gay. While people do come down harsher on homo suspects than straights for the same crimes it seems, I don't think that's the case here. The hooker, who I personally wouldn't kick out of bed for eating crackers, agreed to do certain things for money and was forced into something he wasn't interested in. George and company got caught more or less red handed at it. Just because George (and his friend) paid Auden Carlson for his time, doesn't mean they own him or are entitled to abuse him.
