Dolly Parton Sends Bald Eagle Back to Nature
Dolly Parton does everything. She even frees bald eagles!
Yesterday she participated in a combo bald eagle and commemorative coin release in Dandridge, Tennessee. Said Parton, whose Dollywood Theme Park also hosts an eagle sanctuary: "Our part is our part, but everybody has to do theirs to make it work."
As she stepped from a vehicle in her high heels, she said: "Well, if you're looking for my wilderness shoes, here they are."
She also named the eagle: "Why don't we name it Liberty since we're talking about the coins and patriotic things. I thought that sounded better than Baldy..."
Parton warned that she didn't want to become a baldy herself: "Don't let it get a hold of my hair, or he may fly off with it."

There's no one we love more than Dolly, but the plastic surgery seems to have gotten slightly out of control.

Errr... is that her real face or a mask? Looks weird. The OTHER plastic surgery is only too obvious.

I would be willing to bet she'd be even more beautiful just sitting around talking in comfy clothes and no wig.
If she's happy with the work that she has had done, then bully for her. Besides, it's entertaining to see her persona get even more doll-like as she gets older. She's having fun and I applaud that.

This is a woman- a real woman with class and style. I could care less if she has had a lot of surgery- she is a star, a character- and overall a supreme human being. Her looks may be fake- but her heart and soul are ver, very real. I could only wish any of the trash like Paris, Britney and Lindsey had a small fraction of Dolly's class.

I don't disagree with you JOHN IN TEXAS that Dolly is "a real woman with class and style." She is fun and real and very talented. What bothers me is that in our society apparently EVEN such a woman as that feels that she has to undergo disfiguring surgery in order to feel happy or keep up an acceptable public face (as it were.)
Dolly, like all of us, is certainly entitled to do with her body as she chooses. And if she's happy with herself, that's fine. But I just think it's sad that so many people think they have to go under the knife multiple times (often ending up like Dolly - looking scary and strange), rather than being able to accept what aging does naturally to us all (and just looking old, but not odd.)

I agree with so many of the previous posters. Dolly is a real woman with a huge heart and a wonderful soul. She is our friend and her demeanor and attitude are sincere and loving.
Yes, I wish the stars of today would take a lesson from our Dolly. BUT it is also true that she is starting to look very odd and it is a bit frightening. Inner beauty is a rare thing these days especially in Hollywood and in the music industry. We love you Dolly!

My friend Randy told me as a child whenever Dolly would come on TV he would scream DOLLY PARTS!! over and over and scare his mother half to death. For me it was Tammy Wynette. Seems every gay boy has a certain gay idol they love all their lives.

I saw a presentation by the American Eagle Foundation that is located at Dollywood. They do fantastic rescue and rehabilitation work with eagles and many other large birds (mostly raptors but including vultures and crows). They also provide permanent sanctuary for birds that cannot be released. Dolly is amazing!

I've heard her say many a time that she will not leave the house without full make up, and she laughs at herself about it. I love her and she adds a smile to my face every time I see or hear her.
Besides she looks a lot better that the raisin holding the eagle.

Um, just to clarify, SJ, Ms. Parton has never had the "other surgery". She has always been big and busty since way back when she started her career with Porter Wagoner. I know, because I saw her and Porter in 1973. I will say to my beloved Dolly that it is time to cut back (so to speak) on the cosmetic surgery. Dolly, honey, you're startin' to get that "Joan Rivers I never sleep with my eyes closed anymore" kind of look.
