  1. I'm a big fan of Gale's...I hope he's going to be ok.

Also, thank you Mr. Towleroad for helping the "No on 8" cause by drawing attention to it so regularly. People from all across the country may contribute, and I hope they'll consider it. The website is a breeze to use.

As goes California, so goes the Nation.

  3. The whole Marta/Kassab campaign is really complicated. While I'm not defending that ad, everyone in São Paulo knows that Kassab is gay. Whether or not he wants to come out is his choice, but he consistently votes AGAINST gay rights. It's a shame because it looks like he's going to win...

  4. Gosh, Leland. I keep looking for your name on the donor's list, and I just don't see it. Tell me again where your $$$ is.

  5. LOS ANGELES (AP) - Ellen DeGeneres has made a public service announcement urging California voters to oppose a ballot initiative that would ban same-sex marriage.

DeGeneres married actress Portia de Rossi on Aug. 16, two months after the California Supreme Court ruling that legalized gay marriage took effect. In recent days, the popular talk show host has been criticized in the gay press for not giving money to the campaign to defeat Proposition 8 or otherwise lending her star presence to the cause.

She still hasn't made a campaign contribution, but on Tuesday she posted a video on her show's Web site. She said when she got married it was the happiest day of her life.

DeGeneres' mother, Betty, has given $700 to help defeat the initiative.

Nice she made a PSA that only aired once on her show and yet the lies and bullshit from the yes on 8 camp airs their spots all night on local channels and I see maybe one or two spots from the no camp a week.

Now is the time, put up or shut up and face losing our rights on November 4th. Glad you had a gala wedding and all, but we need $$$$ to fight and win.

And yes Crispy my partner and I donated. Didn't see your name....

  6. Okay, wait, the ACORN fraud is deemed a hoax because some guy from a UK paper says so? What-ever! I think you need a better source - try the guy here in NYC who actually had first hand experience with the fraud. I think he was in the Daily News.

Madonna - a whore at 50. Wow, that's some kind of staying power!

  7. Gosh, Crispy Critter. And you claimed to have figured me out long ago. It's there if ya know how to look and you do. I've given more than Ellen even tho Forbes magazine will never list me as being worth $67 million as they have her.

  8. I just wanted to force you to actually admit it. But no, I haven't figured you out. The silly back-and-forth names remain as mysterious as Reichen's next boyfriend.

3 times, is that right? Impressive.

  9. Leland, Crispy. Just do each other already and spare us the childish taunting.

  11. Thanks to Antonio Villaraigosa, he has been very generous. I'm still waiting to see the donations of Marc Cherry, Joel Schumacher, Rob Marshall and another gay WASP millionaires.

  12. Atleast Ellen is doing SOMETHING. Much more than can be said for our current California Senator Diane(I don't want gays to be equal)Fienstein. While Gavin and others take the heat she REALLY is supposed to be representing OUR state in Washington DC and with literally THOUSANDS of her voters being impacted by this vote on Prop 8 it's beyond disappointing(it's actually disgusting)to see her sit by silently/ineffectively. I hope when she runs for Governor of California she loses BIG. These are the days when I wish Harvey Milk were still alive to provide the "NO" vote for her to be President of the Board of Supervisors in San Francisco. He knew what a lying two faced cunt she was even 35 years ago!

  14. Shane

    Ask John Mccain about ACORN

2006 keynote ACORN speaker = Senator John Mccain.....praising ACORN for their hard work on the behalf of the poor

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJ9wy2MI1NI

    -------------------------

That said, ACORN has always paid poor people and homeless people to go around and register people. It is a way to provide a temp job for poor people while doing something good. All the time they always have a few bad apples who sit around drinking a beer and making up registrations (get paid for each registration)

Each time they always report the problems to election comission boards. They did so this time around as well months and months ago about thousands of wrong registrations = micky mouse for example.

Nobody cared till this month?????? Yeah right. Repubs just grasping at straws. Micky mouse never votes so calm down and talk to John Mccain about how wonderful he thinks ACORN is.

  15. re: Virgil Goode in Virginia, who in the story is accused of supporting a $150.000 earmark to go to a theatre playing Eden's Curve, which his press secretary appears in (& on the theatre's board as well). Interesting story, but the name was already familiar to me b/c he's also the guy who threw a fit when the 1st muslim was sworn in a few years ago & used the Koran instead of the Bible at the swearing-in. And when the guy tried to shake V.Goode's hand, Goode wouldn't. Sort of like McCain not shaking hands w/ Obama last week?

    I hope Obama wins Virginia.

  16. @Shane

Some guy from a UK paper? Hardly. The article is written by American actor-writer-director (and Ann Coulter nemesis) Brad Friedman.

The fact that he had to turn to a UK news website to publish his article probably has something to do with the reluctance of mainstream media in the U.S. to the issue

more info can be found on Brad's blog site:

  17. small correction to the preceding post:

"...reluctance of mainstream media in the U.S. to address the issue."

  18. @JIMMYBOYO

From what I understand, ACORN only pays by the hour and not per registration.
