Madonna's Killer Heels

Madge1

Madonna is under fire for attending last night's New York screening of her film Filth & Wisdom in a pair of Chanel stilettos fashioned with mini-pistols.

Madge2_2Metro reports: "Instead of a normal heel, the Chanel shoes have a piece of metal in the shape of a gun. The 'Miami Vice' shoe, made from plexiglass, is about to be sold across the world, and is the brainchild of designer Karl Lagerfeld. But Madonna's fashion faux pas has been slammed by a UK victims' group. Lyn Costello, from Mothers Against Murder And Aggression (MAMAA), said: 'I am horrified that Madonna can see these shoes as fashion. As a mother herself I would have thought that she would have paused for a second and thought about all the young people here and in her own country that have died because of gun crime. We need the whole of society to take responsibility and action in stopping the glamourisation of weapons. Celebrities have a massive part to play and an icon like Madonna should have more sense. It's uncaring. Surely she reads the news and realises that young people are dying every day.' Ms Costello even invited the pop star to contact MAMAA so she could see the devastation caused by gun crime."

  1. Talk about political correctness gone too far. Love the killer shoes!

  2. Yeah, right, because Madonna is definitely influencing people to become more militant and to take up arms...it's too silly to worry about. Great heels and she looks fantastic.

  3. Uhh... they are just shoes. Some people take things FAR too seriously.

  4. Guns don't kill people, people with killer heels kill people.

  5. Oh my ...Bitch get over it!! they are just shoes!

  6. Tell me again how much this shits-money, superficial, aging hag er "gay icon" has given to defeat Prop 8.

  7. As everyone else has said, these are shoes! Everything isn't always about your victimhood!

    Hmmm, maybe that's why you're a victim--I'm just sayin'.

  8. Those shoes are killer, and Madonna is smokin hot in those pics!

Go suck and egg Leland. You're such a bitter misogynist bitch. You slam Madonna as an "aging hag", then wonder where her support for the defeat of prop 8 is. WTF?

Madonna is in the middle of a world tour, promoting her directoral debut, raising 3 children, and building orphanages/schools in Africa. There are a lot more important things on her plate these days.

I'm also pretty sure she does support the defeat of prop 8.

  10. they look cheap.

  11. How does one know that she HASN'T donated to defeat Proposition 8? People (celebs included) do not have to publicize every donation they make. In fact, the ones who shout to the heavens how much they give to this organization and that organization are suspect in my eyes. The best donations are anonymous donations...

  12. Tacky...something a rapper would wear. And no, they're not "just shoes". Gun heels are obviously saying something. Killer shoes, maybe? Hmm, me don't like.

    Posted by: nikko | Oct 14, 2008 3:16:51 PM

  13. I don't know if anonymous donations are allowed. But there are extensive, frequently updated lists at the California Secretary of State's website. And there's no "Madonna" or "Ciccone" on it.

And FYI: There's no Leland Frances on the list either.

  14. she was just seeking attention, by all means, poor old woman, trying hard to look young and cool. she just aweful to look at. Somebody should tell her that in front of her teeth.

  15. talk about becoming a caricature of yourself, she looks old and pathetic lately. cher looks younger! retire, you're no longer relavent. isn't there some kabalah rule against guns?

    Posted by: leaner | Oct 14, 2008 4:42:41 PM

  16. Leaner,

Brilliant comment--use a post about shoes to show your ageist, sexist mentality--"You're old, retire!" What a genius thought. You play right into the straight male mindset--congrats!

  17. Her New York and New Jersey shows were practically empty according to Fox News. Why can't Madonna just realize she's over with and Mariah Carey is the big relevant star of today.

    Posted by: applesead | Oct 14, 2008 5:55:28 PM

  18. I fail at being gay for not loving Madonna but I have to say that I love Madonna in those shoes.

As far as I'm concerned, I'd rather have guns re-appropriated as the heels of shoes then have them continue to be the symbol of death that they are. The jury is still out on whether or not she's going to far with her statement but she rocks the shoes all the same.

    Posted by: Aubrey-W. T. | Oct 14, 2008 6:59:16 PM

  19. Um, Applesead, every one of her New York and New Jersey shows has been sold out. She sold almost 80,000 seats and that is pretty impressive for the price she charges. Mariah couldn't even sell out her one show at MSG the last time.

    Posted by: john b | Oct 14, 2008 8:09:48 PM

  20. This is just one style of several of Karl's tongue-in-cheek designs. There was also a shoe whose heel was an actual working lightbulb, etc., (price tag $2,000). These are all just merely toys for the merely rich, those who collect fashion, or who desperately want to be "in".

As for how much Madonna has donated to various causes, who's to know? So why always jump to the negative? Vicious, bitter bitches aren't we?

    Posted by: Chad | Oct 14, 2008 8:10:37 PM

  21. "who's to know?"??? Uh, Chad, sorry you've been in a coma...or simply too busy studying such important sociopolitical issues as overpriced women's shoes...but the DOCUMENTED [through analysis of public records in which anyone donating MUST identify themselves] failure of 99% of the most obvious gay and gay icon celebs to show that they give a flying fuck about anything gay-related other than, in this case, enriching herself further by selling more tickets to fool queens is not merely jumping to the negative. Vicious, no. Bitter at being used, YES.

Posted by: Leland Frances | Oct 14, 2008 8:45:08 PM

  22. Leland, go suck it. You bring new meaning to the term "bitter old queen."

    Posted by: Simon | Oct 14, 2008 8:58:06 PM

  23. Not everything Karl does is in the best of taste. COCO would roll over in her grave.

    Posted by: GEOFF | Oct 15, 2008 11:53:32 AM

  24. Um, LELAND, you have way too much time on your hands, and consider yourself WAY too important, you pompus, bitter old queen.

    Posted by: Chad | Oct 15, 2008 5:51:01 PM

  25. omg you guys all sound so immature, grow up, its just fucking shoes.....
