Tina Fey Meets Sarah Palin

While there are differing opinions about the success or failure of Sarah Palin's appearance on Saturday Night Live, it's pretty apparent that 'Caribou Barbie,' as Palin acknowledged her nickname to be, failed to show she was above that attribution.
The real winner in this duel was Tina Fey, and NBC, which scored its highest numbers in 14 years. Robert Kubey, in the HuffPost, called it a huge GOP disaster. While I wouldn't go that far, I don't think the appearance scored her any points.

Does this woman realize that the joke's on her?

I had mixed feelings about this. It was odd to say the least, and the as HuffPo says, the anticipated confrontation between Palin and Fey just didn't happen.
At any rate, Tina Fey still rocks!

I doubt if her constituency was thrilled to see her consorting with those Hollywood libruls. But, I thought she seemed comfortable in front of the camera and did pretty well. I also hope this appearance becomes irrelevant in two weeks.

Yes, lets not get so carried away with our "hate" of Palin. The show was hilarious and she handled herself well. I was hoping they would have done more with having the two interact, but it was still hilarious. Actually Amy Poehler really stole the show though...

Palin's just trying to distract the public from this shocking discovery:

Racy photos have emerged of Sarah Palin posing with alien beer during her beauty queen days. A young Palin is clearly seen in an advertisement for Old Clandathuu’s Best lager.

The intro was disappointing, but the Weekend Update bit was absolutely hilarious, and Palin did just fine on that. For what it's worth, she scored a point with me for that skit. It would take another 10 trillion points for me to actually vote for her ticket, but I'm happy to give credit where it's due.

Anybody think it was planned they had a horse's (ass) just behind her when she's standing in the hall in the beginning?

I thought the whole thing was cringe worthy. Especially the part with Alec Baldwin.

After the Couric interviews, I just felt sorry for the woman (Palin), but now I realize that she brings half of the criticisms upon herself. Appearing on SNL might have been the stupidest move of the GOP campaign.
Like Bading said, doesn't she realize the joke's on her? It's one thing to be mocked on public television, but it's quite another to actively take part in it. Sure, it might show that Palin has a sense of humor, but isn't it time we put some dignity back into the offices of the presidency. The rest of the world (not to mention our own country) already has enough fun at America's expense. Why add fuel to the fire?
