One of Buffalo Continental plane crash victims was long time HIV prevention and gay men's health advocate: "Gonzalez came to New Brunswick from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in Princeton, where he was a National Urban Fellow. Previously, he was executive director of Alianza Latina, a nonprofit organization addressing HIV/AIDS in Buffalo, N.Y.; and also education services director and community educator of AIDS Community Services in New York. New York Press takes a look at the East Village Boys. "The boys that we have on there, they sort of exist as the low-culture pin-up boys. It provides a good mix, having serious discussions without forgetting that we like to look at pictures of naked boys. When you read a newspaper, the most successful ones combine high and low culture. I don’t think most American newspapers do it well it all, but if you look at something like The Guardian, it’s serious but they also recognize that you want a little bit of everything and I think that’s kind of where we are...people come to the site for the cock, but they stay for the culture.”
Anti-gay marriage amendment stopped in Indiana legislature: "Indiana’s Senate Republican Caucus voted this week not to consider a resolution that would have proposed amending the state constitution to define marriage as between a man and a woman. This vote means the amendment is unlikely to advance during this legislative session. The resolution would require approval by the Senate and House in two consecutive legislative sessions, and, if approved, would then go before the voters."
Former Project Runway designer Jack Mackenroth, who is interviewed this week by the San Francisco Bay Times, blogs fashion week in NYC.

I've never read Michael Petrelis before, but, I will now! Thanks Andy for bringing someone new to my (and our) attention! He sounds like my type of guy.
Hmm, Kanye's Gf is sorta fierce in a downtown sorta way. Sorta. Not sexy. Fierce.

GLASS isn't a victim of the recession or substandard support of the L.A. gay community. They're the victim of a board of unqualified, do-nothing board members who don't know the first thing about running a business!
Another bunch of GLBT board gadflies who run an uniquely important organization due to their incompetence (sound familiar NO ON 8??). These people don't know when to step aside when their organization is drifting into unknown waters and bring people in that know what they're doing. All so they can talk about how involved they are in the "community" while schmoozing at cocktail parties!
They should have hired a skilled grant-writer a couple of years ago when state and county funds were drying up to focus on grants to corp. committees, foundations, and philanthropic agencies to offset the reductions for the vital work they do...
Just another case of unaccountable dumbasses who, even when the ship is sinking do the stupidest thing possible - give up!

1. Chris Matthews: forget the Russ "Does This Swatzika Make My Ass Look Fat?" Limbaughs and Laura "Cross Burning Starts At Noon Sharp" Ingrahams of the world—evolution would most quickly be served by the death of the Chris Matthews of the world. Those "Mainstream Media" Spewing Heads play objective, moderates but are, in the depths of the cash registers that pass for their hearts, and the echo chambers that pass for their brains, racist, misogynistic, homophobic defenders of the Great Straight White Male status quo.
2. Even a broken clock is right twice a day, so the occasional accuracy of the comments of Petrelis isn't to be confused with genuine wisdom. In many ways, he's the gay loony left equivalent to Limbaugh, ruthless and cruel. But, as far as I know, even Limbaugh has not had restraining orders imposed upon him as Mikey has.

kayne west is a hot mess and who wears spandex in public anymore?

Leland hits the nail on the head regarding Petrelis and his antics. There are reasons he's had restraining orders, and it's not because Mike is a nice guy. He's a first class a**hole.

Not to go all queerty on you Andy, but can we officially declare that that Michael Lucas has jumped the shark into utter idiocy with regard to his attempts at publicity stunts?
