Adam Lambert Asked if He'd Like to End Speculation That He's Gay
And the answer is "no" — to ending the speculation, that is:
EW: I want to just get this question out of the way first, something that's been dangling a bit over you for the whole season: Would you like to put to rest all the speculation about your sexuality?
LAMBERT: It's not dangling over my head. [Laughing] It may be dangling over yours, but it's not over mine. Yeah, I think speculation keeps things really interesting.
EW: So you don't want to say anything one way or the other?
LAMBERT: Like I said, I think speculation keeps things very, very interesting. [Laughs]
Two more 'speculative' shots, AFTER THE JUMP...

Adam doing his Freddie Mercury thing last night was a fitting way to exit AI and begin a successful journey in the 'biz'. Ambiguity is part of his marketing strategy and it seems to work. The emo image isn't my deal but I respect him as an incredible entertainer. Las Vegas...WATCH OUT! He's a natural for a production show built around his talents.

Sounds like he has a part time job in the White House Press Office ahead of him too.... ;-)

Keep 'em guessing until nobody really cares anymore. I'm already there.

I agree with him. In a truly enlightened society, it shouldn't matter. Not addressing it (paired with not denying it or bothing to play things "straight") just pushes acceptance that much further along.

SPECULATION?!!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Posted by: soulbrotha | May 21, 2009 12:01:29 PM
Who's guessing at this point?
Posted by: Wes | May 21, 2009 12:08:47 PM
Oh, come on, Adam. That's lame and everyone knows it. I'm glad he didn't win now.

His playfulness on the issue will be interpreted as shame...mark my words. Either that or fear of his career being shot down before it's had a chance to take off.

Ooooh, no, Miss Lambert needs to STOP!

Well, the backdrop in the photos is Fubar, a very fun and popular gaybar in West Hollywood.

I like that he's fuckin' with everyone. He said it isn't hanging over his head and honestly that's a great answer.

I don't think he's gay. He's just checking those boys for moles.

It might have kept things interesting back in the days of David Bowie and Boy George. But now it's just proof of the power of the frightened marketing staff & corporate executives who will sign his contracts.
Come out. Be proud. We could use you at the March on Washington in October.

My dad acts the same way after a few drinks.

His future is not in jeopardy. He's a cutie, but this game is older than the hills.
Not really interested and not an issue I particularly pondered much past the eyeliner and purple mousse.

Oh please.
Jesus, I'm so tired of this guy and his screeching.
Gay? Who cares. Straight? Who cares?
Just....go....away already

Hah, just look at that picture! There's no speculation any more, and Adam is just feeding into the whole "being gay = undesirable" mentality by refusing to acknowledge it and move on. It

This "is he or isn't he?" coyness is obnoxious and insulting. Lambert is more gay than Carrie Prejean's mom, ferchrissakes!

LOL! This guy is no dummy. He's playing this very clearly. Is isn't a question for him. And it shouldn't be a question for anyone with a brain. The fact is, at the beginning of American Idol (how many years ago?) there's no way a homo would have made it as far as Adam. But then again, has there been a stand out homo up until now? He's not denying it because THAT would be silly. He's not admitting it because that would be redundant. He's going to have a great career because he knows what he wants, he's talented and is going for it. At this point, if he was really concerned that appearing obviously gay would hurt him, I doubt he would continue to be such an obvious queer. I don't think I'll be a big fan, his belting doesn't do it for me, but good for him anyway.

Interesting comments, perfect depiction of everything that's wrong with the hatred community. Lambert doesn't flaunt anything but his talent, and that's offensive or somehow hurts the LGBT's? He's not making his sexuality an issue, like Mercury, like Bowie, like other rock gods, his music, artistry and talent are the focus of his energies and how does that warrant the unnecessary assumption that "being gay = an undesirable mentality." People who have self respect, self assurance and are self actualized needn't accept anyone else's stupid "labels." What a bunch of divisive crap some of these so-called out and proud pushers are spouting- Lambert has said nothing negative about sexual orientation, why is it an issue for the haters? Aren't there other facets of his being i.e. human/celebrity/public persona that "gay or straight" should honestly be such a huge issue?
He's undeserving of the assumptions so many are making he's correct in refusing to answer "speculations" or respond to all the "conjecture." It shouldn't even matter in the scheme of things.
Judge your own choices, actions and intentions before you judge those of others- or accept that you will be judged as harshly by the same standards.

Why is anyone paying one shred of attention to this pathetic, embarrassing closet case fame hag? Also, Pete Wentz called and he'd like his eyeliner and hairdo from three years ago back, please.

Good Lord - let hiom get a recording contract first before he becomes a "spokesperson" for anyone one or group.

I believe Adam Lambert is destined to be the Mika of 2009: a closeted, screeching, semi-talent.

what the hell is wrong with all of you people bashing on Adam!? The guy is obviously talented+genius+has intense sex appeal+hot and it doesn't matter if he's aga, bi it really doesn't matter. if you keep contemplating.. JUDGING him then eff you all.. DO YOU EVEN HAVE TALENT in the first place? saying you're tired of him.. well if you're tired of hearing about him then why are you reading bout him.. common sense people.. geez. at least be proud that there is actually a human being that is friggin awesome such as him! cmon people he has a rockin voice. i love adam. i love kris too.. and people might not have voted for adam because of his "sexuality" but by doing that.. it proves that they really think so low. GO ADAM! GOD SPEED! \M/ ROCK ON

Look he already got his recording contract---as runner up Simon's got him locked up...WHO CARES....and IF he HAD won then sure he would need to keep the doubletalk and "mystery" going....
Now it's just about the money and ego...
Paging Sam Harris...please pick up your swoops outside Lamberts closet door.
The only thing I can hope for it that he stays away from Broadway...enough with the AI belters.
