Karl Rove Disrespects Sanctity of Marriage, Gets Divorce

Marriage warrior Karl Rove has been granted a divorce in Texas, and the family wants its privacy respected:

Rove "A family friend told POLITICO: 'After 24 years of marriage, many of which were spent under incredible stress and strain during the White House years, the Roves came to a mutual decision that they would end the marriage. They did spend Christmas together with their son, and they plan to spend time together in the future. They maintain a strong friendship, and they both feel that that friendship is a source of comfort and inspiration for their friends and family.'

So it's Bush's fault?

Said spokeswoman Dana Perino: “Karl Rove and his wife, Darby, were granted a divorce last week. The couple came to the decision mutually and amicably, and they maintain a close relationship and a strong friendship. There will be no further comment, and the family requests that its privacy be respected.”

  1. JMG speculates: "How long until a tight-faced bottle-blond trophy mistress makes her appearance?"

I suspect a bottle-blonde West Hollywood GOProud boy to be next.

  6. Actually this is Rove's second divorce. It's well acknowledged that Rove is not really a homophobe in private circles. He's always been just a slimy political operative who twists the context to suit his immediate needs of political profit. Same with Limbaugh, Gingrich, and the other defenders of the traditional marriage scepter. Wonder what would happen if states did away with no-fault divorce? (Rove's was a no-fault decree granted in Texas.) Now if only Americans would stop being so bedazzled by these emoty-soul GOP idiots.

  13. Maybe she feels that if she spends every single second of the rest of her life on her knees praying for divine forgiveness, it might save her from Hell for having had sexual congress with Beelzebub.

  14. Referencing the "sanctity of marriage" in an attempt, I assume, to show hypocrisy on Rove's part doesn't really make sense here, because Rove is probably not a bigot - or, if he is, it's not because of some religious fanaticism, since Rove is an atheist.

    He's just a sociopathic political power-whore.

  18. Now that all the Liberals have got their Rove bashing in, thay can go back to humping animals
and trying to destroy the country that feeds them.
No where else on earth would put up with these
panzy pukes for one day, let alone a lifetime.

  21. How is bashing Rove destroying our country you douche bag? Rove is responsible for splitting our country in two, of gay bashing us for years. Fuck him and Ralph, fuck you, sounds like you can use it.

  22. @Les and Jordan, I agree with your views on Rove, but the fact remains that he orchestrated the many anti-marriage equality ballot initiatives in the 2004 campaign and spread (false) rumors about Ann Richards being a lesbian in the Texas governor's race. So whether he's "really" a bigot in his private life is inconsequential. He's done plenty to hurt gays and very much has a holier than thou attitude.

Dick Cheney is evil, but at least he didn't scapegoat gays to achieve his mendacious goals. There are other ways to behave politically, and tolerant private views negated by pandering public actions don't mean a thing, whether it's on the right or the left (as with the Clintons or Obama).

  24. Ralph,

It isn't liberals who are humping animals, that would be farm boys who live in rural America. Country folk, or Christian conservatives, will often lose their virginity to a small farm animal, or if they're real lucky, maybe even a family member.

By the way, have you ever noticed that most liberals tend to live in the areas of America where life is actually worth living, and conservatives tend to live in rural crap holes down in the deep south?

  25. Paging Carrie Prejean, paging Carrie Prejean. Get him while he's hot...

As for Ralph, I find it amusing that homophobes would read AND comment on a LGBT oriented site. Ignorant? Sure. Self-loathing closet case? Absolutely.
