Report of Daniel Craig's Gay Kiss Will Shake Some, Stir Others

Last week, the L.A. Times reported that Daniel Craig had paid a visit to Venice, California gay bar Rooster Fish, and blogger Kenneth in the 212 filed a similar report, saying "his source SWEARS he saw Craig making out with his friend on a street corner."

Now, the National Enquirer is reporting the same thing, so either there are two folks who reportedly saw the smooch, or the NE is simply reporting on what they read in Kenneth's blog. Likely the latter.

Gossip Cop insists there was no physical "bonding" involved.

  1. Only Mr, Craig gets to say what he is. However, the iconic image of him comming out of the water in 007 has really given me a crush on his I never expect to go away. Mr, Craig: if your reading this: I am 6 foot, 185 pounds, white, consdered very handsome, former model now CEO of an entertainment and communications comnpany in Nw York, have a buff body and am a busy working artist. We even have some mutual friends. Your understudy on broadway was a player in one of the shows I created. Can I buy you dinner? Ask CJ how to get a hold of me. I am only half kidding.

  2. the enquirer story is certainly suspect as it was reported that daniel craig and a male companion were sighted making out in the roosterfish parking log.

i'm not aware of roosterfish having a parking lot. anytime i've visited that place i've had to find curbside parking.

  3. Nice fantasy (REALLY nice) - but my gaydar does not go off around him.

  4. Wishful thinking.

  5. The male friend referenced is Bruce Bozzi. He's gay, and he has a longtime partner and a child, and Daniel Craig is a good friend of his family. Craig is not gay, but he's incredibly supportive and extremely secure in his own sexuality. BTW, Bozzi's family owns The Palm steakhouse chain.

  7. Roosterfish is kinda skanky -- even if he is going bi -- would I want him?

  8. not like any of us is getting into his pants anyway, so it's not really an issue - other than making for nice masturbation thoughts when internet porn is not available

  9. there have been rumors about him for years but it is his right to be in or out of the closet.

  10. Well, Alguien, if you'd walked around the corner to the left immediately as you leave the side entrance to the Rooster, you'd have seen a small car park - maybe 3 cars, almost hidden place to kiss, smoke a bowl, or you know - park if you're lucky.

The Rooster - a dive bar in the truest sense - is probably one of my favorite things about LA. Grungy, exterior and interior, filled with fabulously clever, artists, entertainment people, professionals, and more that a hand full of hot bearish surfer guys. Plus, big giant Mike at the door. What's not to love?

Oh, that this Daniel Craig thing were true.

    I suspect, somehow, it isn't.

  12. OMG! I like, totally grew up at the roosterfish in venice back in the 80's-90's!

  13. Well, after seeing pictures of him in the ocean with not only Andy Cohen, but with Marc Jacobs AND husband in tow, this story is so not shocking to me.

    Posted by: Marcus | May 27, 2010 4:25:21 PM

  14. That explains a lot, jersey girl.

This is way too convenient in terms of gay fantasy to be true.

  15. my gaydar is crazy with Hugh Jackman but i feel a straight Daniel Craig!

  16. How is it that a man kissing another man is news? Did someone see this and say OH MY GOD I have to report this! Jeebus people get a life.

    Posted by: MIke | May 27, 2010 5:56:16 PM

  17. So, doesn't SOMEONE who acts have to be gay?? Every boy in my drama classes was a 'mo in high school, but somehow they all get to Hollywood and they're ALL straight. That said, I don't know if Craig is, but glad for his support. He's a charmer either way.

  18. If they ever make "The Front Runner" movie Craig would be perfect for the coach.

  19. This sounds like what drunk college girls do every other weekend. Not really news.

    Posted by: Knative | May 27, 2010 6:59:07 PM

  20. So, did the two people who saw this not have a cell phone camera?? Everybody has a cell phone camera. Why is there no photo of this makeout session? It's not true if there is no photo! That's all I'm saying.

  21. this story is sourced by a rumor on a gay blog (and not even a good one), and confirmed by the Enquirer? Next.

  22. Reading Lena Horne's new biography shows that gays, blacks and straight entertainers all usually hung out big deal....

  23. blah blah blah... this is just pitiful

Check out Craig's 1998 performance in LOVE IS THE DEVIL, where he portrays the thug boyfriend of British painter Francis Bacon. He's fantastic, nude, sexy, menacing.

    Posted by: SteveDenver | May 28, 2010 8:04:41 AM

  24. Well, he did go on vaction with Bravo's Andy Cohen and he's totally anything is possible...!

Posted by: Beef and Fur | May 28, 2010 8:29:13 AM

  25. He probably was kissing his friend goodnight, not making out. Sounds hyperbolic, esp. given the above comments which note that his pal is married (to a man) with kids.

I have loads of straight male friends who, in an attempt to be accepting I guess, kiss me hello and goodbye. It's sweet and charming, if not always slightly awkward in its unexpectedness.

My guess is that it happened, but it was innocent. If I'm correct, then we live in a strange world where one man cannot kiss another without it becoming sexual, suspect, and worthy of gossip. Take a moment to think through how hateful and self-hating that world is. I will rethink my own "awkward" attitude toward my straight friends.
