Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) Mulling Run for President

Tea Party favorite Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) is seriously considering a run for President in 2012.

ABC News reports:

Bachmann A source close to the three-term congresswoman said Bachmann will travel to Iowa this month for multiple meetings to seek advice from political forces there and party elders close to the caucus process before coming to a final decision regarding a potential presidential run. Bachmann, a native of Waterloo, Iowa, also is set to deliver a keynote speech at an Iowans for Tax Relief PAC fundraiser Jan. 21 in Des Moines, Iowa. According to an invitation to the fundraiser obtained by ABC News, tickets cost $25 per person or $40 per couple, and donors are able enhance their standing by coughing up $1,000 to become an honorary "host" or by donating $250 to become a "watchdog."

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Iowans for Tax Relief PAC, a political action committee working to elect pro-taxpayer Iowa legislators. Bachmann's appearance in the Hawkeye State later this month will be her third trip over the past eight months to the significant early-caucus state, and last week she was featured at another GOP fundraiser in Michigan -- also an early primary state.

  2. It almost makes me ill just hearing her voice. Please, please, please run. There would be no quicker way to see those mutherfuckers go down than for the two of them to run for President/vice-President.
    Palin/Bachmann 2012!!!
I love how she continues to get called Governor Palin when she left office.

  8. Palin and Bachmann both look like hookers who pull their false teeth out before they give you a hummer.

  11. Best ticket EVER!!! Of course it won't happen. Even if Palin does run she'll quit before the election.

  12. I know it is tempting to hope for a Palin or Bachmann ticket in 2012... but the risk is too high that something would happen right before the election, that could make people not want to vote for Obama. Like a scandal, or some crisis that doesn't get handled well, or even a fake smear campaign from the GOP - and there are enough stupid Americans out there that might vote for them, and then we'd be stuck with them. Any republican would be better than either of those two.

  13. "Palin-Bachmann ticket in 2012"

Please, please, please do. It would make a Democratic win so much easier and show the crazies (hopefully once and for all) that they are NOT wanted by the majority of people. Who knows, it could even trigger a shift to the Left (I can dream, can't I).

  14. I join the chorus: please run Michelle! More of America really needs to hear your brain droppings on a regular basis, so they know what you and yours really think.

  16. The ego on politicians is something I'm in awe of. This woman, who has ZERO respect outside of Fox News (and most likely inside) has people around her telling her that she has a chance at the White House. And she believes them. The bubble is a horrible place for anybody (Obama) but this is out of control bullshit.

  17. Bachmann is the most colorfully insane person in national politics today. And that's saying a lot when you consider Sally Kern, Louie Gomphers (sp?), John McCain and all the less vocal and thus, less obvious buffoons in the Republican party.

Every time Michelle speaks airplanes are driven off-course, every time Michelle speaks American collectively loses another IQ point, every time Michelle speaks, an angel plucks its wings and throws itself from heaven.

Run, Michelle, run. You and Palin would be the Dumb and Dumber tour of 2012!

  18. Dear Michelle,

Sarah Palin broke no barriers in her run as vice-presidential candidate in 2008. Geraldine Ferraro beat her by two decades (and was a much better candidate).

Why does Hannity refer to Palin as "Governor"? Palin resigned barely two years into her term. She abdicated her responsibilities to Alaska in order to make quick, if not big, bucks as a media celebrity.

A Palin-Bachmann ticket is a distinct possibility. A Bachmann-Palin ticket is not. Sarah will play second-fiddle no longer.

Sarah either gets to be the Head Pussy or she'll take her toys and go play elsewhere.

    And that's that!

  19. Keep those thoughts about 2012 and I will support you again like I did in 2010/11. I am also glad to see that you are an IOWAN before a MN. We both originally come from a great State - GO HAWKEYE'S. Go get 'em. Gene

  20. I would prefer to see Bachman and Palin in a real female wrestling match.

Nevermind the politics, because neither of them are very good, and would cause more problems than they solve. And, no, it's not because they are women!
