Chaz Bono Exits 'DWTS', Says 'I Wanted to Show America a Different Kind of Man': VIDEO

Chaz_bono

Chaz Bono was eliminated from Dancing with the Stars last night after a season that turned up none of the controversy predicted by right-wing blowhards like Dr. Keith Ablow.

Said Chaz upon his departure:

"I took so much away from this. This was an amazing journey that really pushed me and showed me that I could do so much more than I ever thought I could. I came on this show because I wanted to show America a different kind of man. If there was somebody like me on TV when I was growing up, my whole life would have been different. And so I dedicated everything I did to all the people out there like me and especially to kids and teens who are struggling. You can have a wonderful, great life and be successful and happy."

Said Bruno Tonioli of his tango the night before: "It was like watching a cute little penguin trying to be a big menacing bird of prey. This is the truth: It has to be menacing. Dark. Dangerous. Naughty. The tango wants to be driven continuously. It is hard. It's very difficult. To me, this character didn't fit you."

Cher responded to Chaz's elimination on Twitter: "I Have Got 2Hold my TEMPER ! MY Tears R OK ! Congratulations Chaz I'm SO PROUD OF U ! This was YOUR Quest...& u Followed your Star"

  1. Sad to see Chaz go! Loved his smile and personality. Hope should have gone home...she's not much better and has zero charisma. Can't wait to see what the future brings for our Mr Chaz...

  2. I don't think you should be promoting transgenderism as a form of empowerment for children. It's potentially dangerous in that it instills a sense of confusion as to one's physical characteristics. Keep in mind that cutting out one's penis or adding chemicals to the body are not normal. They are end-game notions that can potentially have disastrous effects on a person's life.

Of course, I'm not saying that Chaz doesn't deserve happiness. As an adult, Chaz has achieved happiness by making decisions as an adult. Repeat, as an adult. This is where such decisions should reside. They should not be promoted as a form of empowerment to children.

  3. @Jason.

Stop Trolling. You're grossly misinformed and seem to be quoting from the right wing playbook.

  5. Bottomline - Chaz performed on a ridiculous show with dignity and class. In doing so, no matter what ABC's motive for casting him, he proved that he is a person and not a freak. Well done, Sir.

  6. @Jason, Promoting transgenderism? Please, age appropriate educating of people of ANY age, is not wrong. Granted that the number of transgender ["People who were assigned a sex, usually at birth and based on their genitals, but who feel that this is a false or incomplete description of themselves." (Wikipedia)] youth is a small number, but the fact is that they do exist!
To let them know that they are not alone is the greatest thing that anyone can do for them. Imagine if you were a left handed child and were led to believe that that was the sign of being the devil! How, as a child would you feel?
Now we know that being left handed indicates that your right mind is predominate and right handed people, well their right mind is not the predominate side, but we forgive them for that. Are you saying that after growing up with NO KNOWLEDGE that you are not the only person that is born within a male anatomy but all the time you fell more like a female, only then after you have grown to adulthood, are you able to learn that there are ways of resolving this issue?
Sorry, but give them hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel!
You sound like the people that rant and rave because they have seen a same sex couple walk down the street holding ands and yell that they are throwing it in your face! Do you throw it in the face of others when you see a young high school straight couple walking down the street holding hands?
Remember what is good for the goose is good for the gander!

  7. In related DWTS stuff,

    At 1:13 in this clip:

Reporter to JR Martinez: "How does it feel to be on the top?"

JR Martinez: "It feels good man."

The beautiful Tristan McManus, hanging all over JR: "It also feels good to be the bottom."

  8. OK, he did it and made it further than anyone thought. The truth is, he doesn't really have any discernible talent from either parent, but apparently, the symbolism or something is the important thing. For that, I say cheers, Chaz.

  9. @ YNOT...how do you know he doesnt have any discernable talent? Chaz went to the Performing Arts Hugh School in NYC majoring in drama plus was the lead singer in a band. Just because he hasn't persued a "performing' career these past 25 yrs doesntr mean he isn't inately talented. Time will tell...

  10. You sir to Chaz are a gentlemen bravo for your class compassion and grace. You definitely are an inspiration and I know in my heart there are kids and teenagers who struggled the same way you did who were watching you. :)

  11. I am happy Chaz made it this far and think it makes a powerful statement for diversity and visibility. I also think this was a fair place for him to go. By week 6, the dancers have all improved greatly, the dances have become significantly more complicated and theatrical, and the expectations are higher. He, along with Nancy Grace and Hope Solo, seemed to have the most trouble breaking through to the "home stretch" level of quality and effort, especially since he outlasted Chynna Philips, who was a front-runner earlier on. I'm really proud of him and what he's done and know he can hold his head up high knowing he really did a great deal to raise visibility and reduce trans-panic in middle-America (or at least plant the seeds). Go Chaz and, while I personally would have liked to see Nancy Grace go home before him, this was fair. Love his mother's support of him (especially since she struggled with it so publicly, btw, at the start), btw.

  12. You did good Chaz! It was a fun ride watching you on DWTS!

  13. DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS WHO LURK UNDER THE ROCKS AND BRIDGES OF THIS SITE. People like "Jason" enjoy throwing rocks at the "gay bees nest" just to watch the bees buzz and swarm out in a frenzy.

Don't let him bait you. Pretty soon he'll go back to "accidentily" surfing onto a gay porn sight, masturbating, which will be followed by a long session of shame and regret. (Repeat)

    Pathetic.

  14. I think maybe a bigger transformation might have been to loose some weight. He's so bloated it's hard to see how he moves his head.
