  3. I've always regarded Benneton as a European version of GAP: mediocre quality with a touch of style.

I may finally break down an buy an item.

  6. Stunning. Arresting. Haunting.

This is advertising elevated to an art.

  7. Maybe I missed something, but it looked like the only true "love" scenes either involved a man and a woman or two women. The one instance where I think (not sure) I saw two men kissing ended in one of the two pushing the other one away rather violently.

  8. That scene was there, but there were also guys kissing affectionately. Like in the screen grab above, where the guys are shirtless.

  9. @Paul R Are you sure the blonde is a man? It didn't look like it to me; if it is, they sure seem to have gone out of their way to make it ambiguous, unlike the scenes involving two women....and the scenes involving the soldiers were more like the traditional male bonding you would see in the military rather than an example of one-to-one same-sex attraction, particularly when you consider what comes immediately after--a number of "fight" scenes of various sorts.

  11. Probably androgynous male kissing possibly androgynous male.

    Woo hooooooooooo.....

Benetton discovered long ago that all you have to do to sell clothes is evoke strong emotions, even meaninglessly.

  13. Nice ad. Reminds me of the recent Levi's ad that featured protesting/rioting and love scenes.

  14. Very powerful ad. The scene which struck me the most was the two muslim women kissing while trying to stay undetected.

  15. Very stirring, but were they all wearing Benetton clothing?

  16. I remember wearing their clothing back when i was 18-19? We thought it was so cool and european. Glad they are back!

  17. The scene where the two Muslim women shared a kiss even while looking around themselves in fear of being seen was the most poignant.
