Lambert

Adam Lambert looks at the dueling sides of his ego in his "Better Than I Know Myself" video.

Tweeted Lambert vefore the video's premiere this morning: "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction."

GLAAD stepped in this week after finding that 29% of the comments on Yahoo!'s website on a new Lambert interview violated the company's terms of service by threatening the singer:

One commenter wrote, "This is why a concentration camp is needed for homosexuals," while another said he wished Lambert would die by suicide.

Perhaps most disturbingly, one commenter posted, "It would make my day if someone was to do to him what those men did to Matthew Shepard," an openly gay University of Wyoming student who was brutally murdered in a bias-motivated crime in 1998.

According to the organization, Yahoo! suspended commenting on the interview and promised to work on ways to implement safety for LGBT people online.

  2. The sad thing is that Clear Channel radio stations allegedly have a policy prohibiting the playing of songs from openly gay or bisexual men. However, it allows songs by openly gay or bisexual women.

Therefore, Adam won't get get added to playlists, sad to say.

  4. Actual, several Clear Channel stations added the song before its official add date, and more are schedule to auto add this next week. Cumulus is the primary hold out in the past.

  5. Why can't Yahoo track down the IPs of those who made death threats and bring some kind of justice to this situation?

These are actual death threats, something the FBI takes seriously when their posed against politicians and other people in power.

  6. As far as pop music goes, as usual Lambert is right on target.

  7. There might be a few Clear Channel stations that will play Adam's new song but they will be few and far between. It certainly won't be put on high rotation. His audience impressions (AI) won't go higher than a few million. Mediabase's - Mediabase being one of the two major radio song monitoring organizations - AI's for very big hits is usually 150-160 million.

Adam is a victim of the music industry's bisexual double standard. If a woman says she's interested in girls, she gets a recording contract and heavy promotion. If a man says he's interested in boys, he gets shunned.

Sleazy straight guys and their female enablers still control the music industry, basically.

  8. more plastic bubblegum music for the masses. This man has an incredible voice. Why do these idiots insist on matching him with a song thats got not guts. Everything in this country is over processed, homogenized, and focus-grouped to death.
I wish Adam could break free sing some damn robert plant and be himself, not a stylized, hollywooded-up, milk toast version of himself.
And as for the jerks who write that kind of hate on Yahoo? Theyre jealous and theyre scared of their own sexuality. cowards

  9. Always think Adam just tries too hard. . esp'ly with the 'I'm a Rock Star' image. Like the song, tho. And anyone else get the anti-suicide vib? He's come to love himself and refuses to 'leave' himself?

  10. funny how those who blog here...changed their tone...prior to adam getting death threats on yahoo...you guys were very negative about him...why?? why do male gay guys tend to not like adam in terms of his appearance and music. adam never claimed to be a "rock god"...that label was put on him by idol and producers of idol and some fans...adam digs pop and glam rock...that is his choice. i love the song...think the video speaks of the battle with the good and bad inside each of us..something we are all familiar with and love the end where his eyes are different, one is brown and one is blue...he has made peace with his selves...very deep...not the bulls _ it crap you see in videos like "Stupid Hoe" or "I'm Sexy and I Know it." No one sings like this man...And just saw...he is going to be the front man for Queen's gigs this summer along with his solo tour...Yes!!!

  12. Jason - you're such a fun, positive person.

Steven - Adam doesn't want to be another Robert Plant, he wants to be a 'pop' singer.

I like the video but what I'm most looking forward to is the album, Trespassing. It's getting unbelievable, across the board, positive reviews. Everyone who has heard the tracks can't stop gushing about how incredible the songs are.

  14. @Kat23, I hate Adam Lambert because I can't stand his voice and especially dislike the way he looks.

But I am not going to post violent insults. Some people just rub other people the wrong way and the internet will always give a voice to our darker responses. As long as there is anonymity on the internet, there will be horrible people on the internet. It's best to play along, It's fake anon hatred anyway.

  15. The world is full of ugly actions and (emotionally) ugly people who detest anyone different from themselves. It is so sad. Adam will always remain a light for positivity and kindness.
The gripes about the music he sings, well, I don't like HipHop, but if that's what sells and is played on radio, the airwaves will be full of it.
I'm not a fan of most Pop music either, but with Adam's voice and performance skills, who can not love the music. I saw a comment on Twitter that Adam should have a TV series about a Werewolf who tries to rid the world of Autotune. Now THAT made me laugh. If autotune goes, so do most of the pop stars who rule the Top 20.
Rock ain't never coming back, unfortunately, and if Adam did a rock album, no one would play it, just as other artists have discovered. It's called CLASSIC rock for a reason.... a quote from Mr. Lambert himself.
