  3. To be fair, this project began months ago. They were already advertising well before Obama came out for gay marriage.

    Way to go, Marvel!

  4. I'm on the fence about this. I can't really see this happening, it feels about as forced as when he came out. It seems like the new normal in pop culture is if the characters are gay, then get them married. In some ways its kind of like making them eunichs. like they can't deal with the idea of having a character be out and sowing their oats. Is the idea of a character being like a Gambit (for instance: a player) so repelant that they can't deal with it. Its kinda the way it feels to me. Lets see what DC does with their newly announced Iconic Character coming out... hope he gets a chance to play the field.

  5. Jean Paul is going to cheat on him. He still has a thing for Bobby Drake, and who could blame him.

  6. Nelson -- Marjorie Liu is only the latest writer to develop the relationship between Northstar and Kyle -- they've been together since before Northstar joined the X-Men, and there's a lot of substance to that relationship at this point. And don't forget, Jean-Paul is Canadian -- of course he'd want to marry the man he loves.

Me, I'm waiting for the OneMillion(minus 960,000)Moms boycott. That's probably why Marvel went ahead and did it.

  8. Comic book geek here. Northstar was actually written as gay as soon as he was introduced in Alpha Flight back in the 80's. Northstar was always "troubled" by something that even his twin sister couldn't figure out. John Byrne, who created him, said he created Northstar as gay and it was never a gimmick. Marvel just felt it wasn't the right time to introduce a gay character. This is why he only came out many years later.

  9. Nelson, you need to read up. Northstar has always been intended to be gay ever since the creation of that character decades ago.

  10. Marvel Comics, thank you (he writes with tear-filled eyes).

  11. Man, WHY THE VIEW? Get that on Colbert or something.

  12. Marvel, I am disappoint.

  13. dude, Northstar and I go way back. I'm just saying that it would be nice if his story was a little more interesting, not the new cliche. check out the way they're telling Kate Kane & Maggie Sawyer's romance in Batwoman. Now that is a story I can get behind: messed up, imperfect, and relatable. I'm just a little bored and somewhat disappointed in Jean-Paul being the poster child for all p.c. gay stuff. that's all... and you can just cough this up to bitter gay fan-boy reaction. haha, typical wouldn't you say? :)

  14. WHOOPI GOLDBERG IS NOT A RELIABLE STANDARD-BEARER FOR TRADITIONAL VALUES. JOY BEHAR CONDUCTED A "gay-friendly" INTERVIEW WITH THE "don't know he's 'black-' CNN-'gay' anchor, DON LEMON. USING "The View" AS A REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC IS SILLY. CONSERVATIVES CONSIDER THE SHOW TO BE PART OF THE LIBERAL-MEDIA BIAS AGAINST TRADITIONAL-FAMILY VALUES. CONGRESS, YOU ARE TAKING TOO LONG! STOP THESE FOOLS!

  15. Andy Towle,
THANKS FOR THE "NATION OF ISLAM" VIDEO. Mr. Towle, I MUST TELL YOU - SINCE YOU ARE CAUCASIAN - IT WAS EXTREMELY NICE OF YOU TO HAVE THIS VIDEO ON YOUR SITE. YET, I MUST BE HONEST. CAUCASIANS DISMISS Louis Farrakhan AS AN "EXTREMIST." THE EXACT WORDS SPOKEN BY Mr. Farrakhan COULD HAVE COME FROM THE MOUTHS OF OTHER NEGRO PREACHERS THROUGHOUT THIS COUNTRY. IN REFERENCE TO "gay" MARRIAGE, THE "NATION OF ISLAM" IS IN-STEP WITH NEGRO-BAPTIST AND NEGRO CHURCH-OF-GOD-IN-CHRIST BELIEVERS. WHEN CAUCASIAN HOMOSEXUALS CELEBRATE THEIR "gay-pride" EVENTS THIS SUMMER, THERE WILL BE SOME NEGRO "gays" IN ATTENDANCE WHO "GAVE-UP" THEIR "blackness" IN ORDER TO SUPPORT YOUR CAUSE. MANY OF THESE NEGROES ARE ISOLATED FROM THEIR FAMILIES. THAT IS SAD. NONETHELESS, Mr. Towle, YOU DID A WONDERFUL THING BY PROVIDING THIS VIDEO.
