  1. Angelina and Bradd getting married ? So they lied to us ? They said they weren't getting married until everyone in the US had the same right to get married.

They are fakes. They are just the same as all the other straights who use us to get our money. They SAY they support us but their ACTIONS tell us otherwise.

    ACTIONS speak louder than WORDS.

  2. Why so much attention about Spice Girls performing at the Olympics closing ceremony ? They are a TERRIBLE representation of British music - totally manufactured and talentless.

Of all the INCREDIBLE British music artists to choose from I can't believe they sunk so low as to invite the truly awful Spice Girls to perform. Depressing.

  3. I hope everyone stays away from the New Hampshire Pride Festival now they are allowing Chick-Fil-A to attend ! What the hell were they thinking ?! REALLY ?

It sounds like the whole organizing team need to resign. It's self-hating, weak idiots like this who are holding our cause back.
If we can't even manage a simple boycott of a fast food chain how on earth can we do ANYTHING ?

    We gays are idiots.

I urge everyone to boycott the whole NH Pridefest. We need to remain strong. We don't need right wing hate groups like Chick-Fil-A coming to our events. Gay Pride should be one of the very places we can be free of discrimination and hate - we should not have useless, pathetic and weak "leaders" inviting hate groups. What message does this send to younger gay people ?

  5. like Michelangelo i never wanted to have kids either. but i also have the luxury when someone asks if i have kids to say, "Yes. Thousands of them!" i have been an educator so i worked with kids on a daily basis. the best part for me was i didn't have to have them live with me...

  6. "ACTIONS speak louder than WORDS."

Pitt donated $100,000 to defeat Proposition 8. He's donated his time to pro-gay causes as well.

  7. That Arctic storm is fantastic. Shouldn't it bring more needed ice?

Too bad that nauseating today-featured Russian gay film, all its actors and all its crew, couldn't be caught right in the middle of it.

Oh, and Brad and Angelina rock. May they live happily ever after!

  8. Thank you for providing the above link to the article about the Eagle scout returning his medal. A very interesting and moving article which was well written.

There can't be many active Eagle scouts left now if only 4% of scouts achieve that level. What a major blunder from the Boy Scouts movement.

  10. Brangelina getting married! Hooray! That can only mean one thing! Oh wait... what... we can't? Well, nevermind.

It's hard to fault them though. The tax benefits that they'll receive will surely help them out. The tax burden resulting from lack of federal recognition of their relationship probably is making it difficult to get by and is probably keeping the children from eating too.

And speaking of the children, at least those poor children will finally have an appropriate family, consisting of one mother and one father. Think about the children!

    So good on them!

  11. More Ryan Lochte, less Chick Fil A handwringing.... this blog has turned into ChickFilA News Central and all it does is give them more publicity. Just don't eat there and shut up about them.

    And post more Lochte stuff.

  12. I can't fault Brad and Angelina. They're both vocal in support of human rights and specifically gay rights. So Brad made a comment a few years ago about not getting married until we all can. What does it matter if they get married? So none of us has ever changed their minds, especially when the futures of their children are involved? I don't exactly hold them up as role models, but they're decent people.

The Spice Girls are indeed a terrible choice. I dressed as Gerry one Halloween as part of Spice Girls from the Dead. Met a guy dressed normally aside from one angel wing and a potato in front of his crotch. He was a right-wing dictator. One of the funniest things ever.

  13. I never understood all the Spice Girls hate. But perhaps that's because I was 10 years old when they released their first album. The Spice Girls always take me back to my childhood and fills me with that carefree-ness and zigazigah!

I agree with Signorile's response to the NY Times article about gay men having children. I don't wan children and never in my life wanted children. The only time the idea of children entered my head was when I was a teenager and feeling anxiety over being gay. Especially after hooking up with male classmates, I'd keep telling myself that I could stop that and get married to a woman and have kids and be "normal."

One of my favorite things about being gay is the lack of pressure to have kids. I can do what I want, which is to not have kids, without feeling guilty about it. And best part is I can't even accidentally have one.

Signorile articulated my thoughts about "liberating" straight people much better than I could have. I think it's unfortunate though that the LGBT movement has so narrowly focused on this assimilation-minded "We're just like you" approach to LGBT equality. Rather than challenging societal norms and social institutions that have historically been used to exclude, we've been seeking to adopt those norms and join those institutions. We're not taking advantage of an opportunity to create new more equal norms and institutions, that benefit everyone, not just the LGBT community.

With all that said, it is great that the option to have children is growing. I know many of my peers that want to have children, including some that already have kids.

  14. Spice Girls are rehearsing? You mean rehearsing to mime?

  15. I don't understand all this hoopla about the Spice Girls performing at the Olympics either. They were popular for a few years in the late 90's and by 2000 they called it quits. You would swear it was the Beatles. Plus, I can't stand Victoria Beckham and her b1tchface she always has on.

  16. "Rather than challenging societal norms and social institutions that have historically been used to exclude, we've been seeking to adopt those norms and join those institutions. We're not taking advantage of an opportunity to create new more equal norms and institutions, that benefit everyone, not just the LGBT community. "

You cannot conflate culture and institutions, even if they do inform one another.

A sweeping cultural movement is essentially impossible for any one group to direct or 'challenge'. We can challenge societal norms so as to extend them to ourselves, but fundamental change cannot be controlled.

Reproduction is essential to all living things. Perpetuating a lineage and developing kinship links are deeply ingrained values that more than likely have biological bases.

In any event, the past decade should have served ample lessons of the follies of attempting to liberate people from themselves.

  17. Mittsy is SO out of touch with real people. He's an unreformed bully, cultist and now has cozied up with some truly ugly people. He's a whore. Will the general run of voters catch on to this in time?

    Oh, come on !

    Jesus, stop being such clones.

    Pure fiction.
