WWII-Era American Bomb Explodes in Munich: VIDEO
German authorities evacuated a neighborhood and detonated a World War II era American bomb that they were unable to defuse after it was discovered buried several feet underground:
The explosion occurred around 10 PM local time, and the resulting blast blew out windows in the surrounding area and started a few small fires. No injuries were reported, and most residents have since been allowed to return to their homes.
Watch, AFTER THE JUMP...

Luckly nobody was hurt/killed when it was initially found

Wonder what the people who have lived around that bomb for all these years not knowing think and feel about it.

'Officials in Munich estimate that there are some 2,500 bombs buried in the Bavarian capital alone.'

That's just one bomb. There are parts of France that can not be entered safely due to the remnants of WW1. Don't start a war but if you do fight it in some one else's country.

My parent's and grandparent's tax money at work. A little late, but the detonators were developed on test ranges having harder soil than is found in most of Germany, so a lot of the ground impacts were duds.

That must have been terrifying for the local seniors to hear.

The Master Brande Tradition Brande Complication serves as a prime example of Jaeger-Le Coultre’s ability to combine both qualities in one amazing timepiece.
