Some positive news from the Seattle Post-Intelligencer:
Washington voters appear poised to enact changes in social policy, legalizing same-sex marriage and possession of marijuana, that will be noticed across the country, according to a new SurveyUSA poll for KING/5 News.
The poll found Referendum 74, which would make Washington the seventh state to enact marriage equality, leading by a 55-40 percent margin with just 6 percent undecided. No state in America has ever voted in favor of same-sex marriage. The issue is also on the ballot in Maryland and Maine.
Republican Washington State Rep. Maureen Walsh, who gave an emotional speech for marriage equality on the floor of the Washington House last February, appears in the newest ad for Washington United for Marriage.

Clashes broke out at Johannesburg's Pride parade on Saturday when LGBT activists formed a blockade in protest of the depoliticized nature of the event, Mamba Online reports:
The group of activists, from the 1 in 9 campaign, ran out from behind the Goodman Gallery building and set up an impromptu blockade. A number of life-size dummies and activists were stretched out on the road, representing LGBT victims of hate crime, backed by banners that read "Dying For Justice" and "No Cause for Celebration".
Pride participants were confused by the protest and some appeared to be under the impression that it was being staged by an anti-gay group. Tempers flared as marshals insisted that the activists move out of the way.
When marshals attempted to divert the parade to the other side of the road, around the protest, the activists moved to again block the parade from proceeding. This angered both participants and marshals who attempted to pull down the banners stretched across the avenue.
Scuffles erupted amid shouts of the parade being an "elitist" and "depoliticised" event. Both Joburg Pride organisers and 1 in 9 have accused the other of reacting with violence and abusive behaviour.

American Family Association subgroup One Million Moms is going nuts over a television show that doesn't exist yet:
EW announced in August that the cable network had greenlit The Fosters, an hourlong drama executive produced by Jennifer Lopez and created by Bradley Bredeweg and Queer as Folk‘s Peter Paige. The show will focus on a multi-ethnic family headed by a lesbian couple.
One Million Moms has called the program “anti-family,” posting a call to arms on its website: A premiere date has not been set, but One Million Moms wanted to sound the alarm about this new series. It will be airing on the network soon unless we do something about it. They are in the beginning stages.
Shrieks OMM (director Monica Cole, pictured):
Obviously, ABC has lost their minds. They haven't let up so neither will we. ABC's Family Channel has several anti-family programs, and they are planning on adding to that growing list. ABC Family has approved a series pilot from Jennifer Lopez's production company, Nuyorican, about a lesbian couple and their diverse family. Many families have already discovered that ABC Family Channel is anything but family-friendly. But because of family being part of the network's name, we thought a warning should still be sent out for anyone who continues to watch the channel. A premiere date has not been set, but One Million Moms wanted to sound the alarm about this new series. It will be airing on the network soon unless we do something about it. They are in the beginning stages.
ABC Family reported the comedy-drama pilot, working with the title "The Fosters," is about two women raising a "21st century," multi-ethnic mix of foster and biological kids. While foster care and adoption is a wonderful thing and the Bible does teach us to help orphans, this program is attempting to redefine marriage and family by having two moms raise these children together. One Million Moms is not sure how the explanation will be given on how the biological children were conceived. None of this material is acceptable content for a family show.
Hollywood is continuing to push an agenda that homosexuality is acceptable when scripture states clearly it is a sin. As Christians, the Bible also says that we must speak up against sin. If we remain silent then we are guilty of sin also.
Lopez will be an executive producer for the hour-long project. Casting has not been announced. It's still in the pilot stage and hasn't been picked up for a series yet. Let's stop this dead in it its tracks.

Mitt Romney is scheduled to make a speech today at the Viriginia Military Institute to build his foreign policy cred and tear down Obama's.
Obama for America spokeswoman Lis Smith issued a statement yesterday in advance of the speech:
"If Mitt Romney wants to have a debate about foreign policy, we have a message for him: bring it on. President Obama has decimated al-Qaeda's leadership, responsibly ended the war in Iraq, is bringing our troops home from Afghanistan, and is standing up to China's cheating. To date, all Mitt Romney has offered is bluster and platitudes. He's erratically shifted positions on every major foreign policy issue, including intervening in Libya, which he was against before he was for. 'Mainstream' foreign policy isn't what Mitt Romney is putting forward: having plans to start wars but not end them; wanting to keep 30,000 U.S. troops in Iraq indefinitely; exploding our defense spending to levels the Pentagon has not asked for, with no way to pay for it; insulting our allies and partners around the world on the campaign trail; and calling Russia our number-one geopolitical foe. If that's where Mitt Romney thinks the mainstream is, he needs to find a better compass. It's clear that on every measure, Mitt Romney fails the commander-in-chief test."
And today, the Obama campaign is out with a new ad.
