  1. "ZERO women will lead the major House committees in the 113th Congress."

The GOP is still the old white boys club I see. So much for all that talk after the election of making an effort to widen the tent.

  2. "would love to be a fly on the wall" as the old cliche goes

  3. Yoko Ono is a fashion designer now? So if Dolce and Gabbana break up we will know who to blame.

  4. "accepting everyone as equally God's creation"

Accepting everyone as "God's creation" really doesn't say much, particularly in light of Quran 5:33-34.

  5. The ACLU thing wasn't clear to me, so I looked it up, and their position is "taxpayers of Philadelphia are not obligated to subsidize that discrimination".

  6. Not to be a size queen, but "huge" tornado didn't seem that big. And even size doesn't determine power. Curious to see how they rate it.

  7. And yet, Randy, there are plenty of discriminatory verses in the Christian and Jewish texts as well, yet they get a free pass on being "accepting?" Seems your own personal bigotry is showing.

  8. Well of course young gay men are seeing the highest new HIV infections, 30+ years after the beginning of the AIDS era. We aren't encouraging safe sex anymore! Schools don't teach sex ed. The boomer and Gen X gays who survived, even the poz ones, are xtubing and tumblring themselves having bareback sex all over the web. No one is having an honest conversation about what it is like to live with HIV. It is not as simple as taking a pill or two and living normally! Lord have mercy those who forget or ignore the past are DOOMED to repeat it.

  9. A $ 340,000,000.00 art project counter-proposal for Christo: Buy food and water for the world's starving masses; photograph, film and document the effort; sell the resulting artifacts to gullible 'culturati' then re-invest the proceeds on sustainable business projects in the world's poorest countries.

  10. Christo isn't funding that project, the UAE government is doing most of it.

    It's still obscene, of course.

  11. 1 out of 5? okay, but i'm a little concerned about the other 4 out of 5 too! That's a much larger percentage of infected individuals.

  12. "Do it yourself" does not just apply to shining shoes, and cleaning the basement. It may not be quite as satisfying, but a lot safer. (Wash your hands - before and after.)
