    There is, of course, no “longest” English word; just add another amino acid to the protein and the word that describes it is longer than the previous “longest” word.

    And the difference between the “world’s longest English word” and the “longest English word” seems to be that the former is pronounced with a Slavic accent.

    A strand of DNA written out in English would be billions of letters. Pi written out in English would be an infinity of letters. In general, usage determines validity. You need to find a reference to the word in a non-referential source. For example, in a scientific article and not in an encyclopedia or dictionary.
