The xx Covers Wham's 'Last Christmas': LISTEN
Here's a nice tweak of Wham!'s Christmas now classic 1984 pop tune which was released on a double A-side with "Everything She Wants". The xx have taken it and given it their trademark ethereal twang.
Listen, AFTER THE JUMP...

No. Just no. Aren't Christmas songs suppose to be upbeat? Their version is sad and depressing... and it might actually help if they knew how to sing.

David -- "Upbeat"? Like White Christmas, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Blue Christmas, Christmastime is Here, et al?
This is an OK rendition of a good song, but not awful, and not a new classic. Nice to listen to, but the original is still best.

Um, the original version was sad, too. It's a sad song with an upbeat melody (in the George Michael version).
