Another GOP senator, who asked not to be named because it was a private event, described it as a 'very positive meeting' that focused on the debt and deficit. 1. a) Bravo to the Indian pard guards for shooting the poachers dead. I have argued for years that this is the REAL solution to the problem. Start killing them and the poaching will come to an end in no time. And since Leonardo DiCaprio is in this "story", too, bravo to him for devoting himself to conserving the world's wildlife--I have never thought much of him as an actor, but he is a great human being.

    b) Straight women are so stupidly naive when it comes to gay men like Jake Gyllenhall and their beards......just so, so stupidly naive

    c) Ellen Degeneres has become nothing but an objectifier of men and is obviously doing so out of some vengeful feminist motive....and I have personally become quite sick of her BS.

  2. Brett Ratner is so far in GLAAD's pocket that they will be presenting him with the Excellence in Media Award next week. UGH

  3. I'm with Rick. While it is not to be wished, necessarily, I am glad they shot the bastards. If they want the horns so bad, let the fuckers fight the rhinos hand-to-hand for it. At least then it would be a fair(ish) fight. Better yet, let the Chinese apothecaries go to India or Africa and fight the rhinos hand to hand for the horns. I bet demand for rhino horn will drop right off.

  4. Oh, but I'm not with Rick:
Like gay men don't objectify other men every hour on the hour?

  5. "Like gay men don't objectify other men every hour on the hour?"

Yeah, but they are doing it out of lust and sexual desire, not in pursuit of a vindictive political agenda, as appears to be the case with Ellen.

Assuming she really is the lesbian she claims to be and is not bisexual, what else would explain her behavior?

    Posted by: Rick | Mar 7, 2013 4:48:04 PM

  6. LoL, Rick rears his misogynistic head, as usual. "Objectifying men as vindictive political plots?" Are you serious with this BS? Talk about scrapping the barrel of stupidity. Please, go seek mental health care, Rick.

  7. I don't understand why actors in the glass closet receive so much hate while the ones using beards have a free pass.
I don't think actors owe us anything at all, and i understand that you can lose jobs being out of the closet, but there's a big difference between not telling and lying.
People in the glass closet eventually come out.
Bearding is pathetic, i can understand it in a newbie like Taylor Lautner, but Jake Gyllenhaal is a different story

  8. Rick: She is a lesbian, but her audience is not.

I always will give Ellen a pass, because she introduces homosexuality in a lot of middle america homes

  9. We know Jake is gay again because Ted Casalacksense said so for years?

    Posted by: Mogrill | Mar 7, 2013 5:40:54 PM

  10. Maybe Jake's simply not gay , ever thought about that . According to Ted he's hiding a kid somewhere too .

    Posted by: aki | Mar 7, 2013 5:59:04 PM

  11. The problem for Jakie is that he's only dated for what seemed like publicity, such as when a movie is coming out. Otherwise, he's peculiarly alone or with one of his exercise buddies.

    Posted by: anon | Mar 7, 2013 6:01:15 PM

  12. And then there's Andre Agassi, twice-married (the second time with kids), who, prior to his first marriage, had only been seen publicly with his exercise buddies... AND BARBRA STREISAND (and not to promote a movie, either). If his first wife (Brooke Shields) is to be believed, Agassi was actually quite homophobic (seemingly in keeping with his Armenian/Assyrian/"Iranian" macho upbringing). Gyllenhaal is different how?

    Posted by: Jerry | Mar 7, 2013 6:17:41 PM

  13. "Gyllenhaal is different how?"

    Well he's not gay.

    And he's not a hateful sh*t either.

Posted by: David Ehrenstein | Mar 7, 2013 6:25:56 PM

  14. Agreed, Gyllenhaal seems to be a pretty okay guy, but again, the same allegations about Agassi's sexuality are a significant part of cultural lore.

  15. Somewhere and sometime in a parallel dimension, rhinos are poaching humans to cut off human noses for Traditional Chinese Rhino Medicine.

On a serious note, the protein that makes up the rhino horn is keratin, a protein that is either identical or closely related to the keratin protein the makes up human hair, skin and nails. You'd think the Chinese would just use toenail clippings for medicinal purposes instead of killing beautiful, endangered animals. That is if they don't do that already and pass it off as rhino horn.
