  2. Portland is a nice city. Too bad there aren't a lot of decent jobs.

    The London film was fascinating.

19 shot in NOLA @ Mother's Day festival? Sad. Just sad. Pathetic.

Why an HIV stigma? Dunno.....because it's a deadly disease? Those who're are HIV+ of course shouldn't be stigmatized, the disease certainly should, and there's nothing wrong with having a healthy fear of contracting it.

Yes, if you are a lesbian
Yes, if you are a suburban Gay man who does not expect it to be a big city
Yes, if you are a man who is comfortable living in a place where the energy is very feminine.
No, if you want a vibrant Gay male community
No, if you want someplace where people are actually friendly, rather than surface polite. They are NOT interesting in hearing anything outside their bubble, and not interested in actually being friends.

  4. "Why does HIV stigma among gay men persist?"

Yes, I simply cannot possibly imagine why there could be a stigma against people with a chronic and if poorly managed, fatal infectious disease. Please, POZ magazine, tell me why ever this could be, preferably in a long, rambling, obnoxiously whiny story form.

  7. The She-Ra spoof started of funny and then it died...the London footage was amazing- hard to believe they had such great color photography in 1927- it's really a glimpse back in time.

  9. Wisconsin LGBT
    Hard road ahead.
This is RNC Reince Priebus, Paul Ryan, and Scott Walker bunkered headquarters.
The only things in Wisconsin that grow faster than corn & cabbage are churches.
McCarthy was from here and they're somehow proud of that.

  10. That HIV article is a pointless pile of crap. I don't want to catch herpes or gonorrhea either. Does that make me evil? I have plenty of HIV+ friends, and I don't judge them. It's just something that I don't want to live with. All this talk about it being an easy, manageable disease is a lie. It's an expensive, painful pain that, yes, will shut down a lot of life options. So do diabetes, Alzheimers, Parkinsons, and other awful conditions.

  11. Frankly, we probably need more, not less HIV stigma in the gay community. If we were to speak more loudly about the downsides of the disease (e.g., being dependent of drugs to remain alive, facial wasting, neck fat accumulation, insulin resistance), perhaps more gay men would wrap it up and otherwise take the fairly easy steps that drastically reduce one's chances of contracting HIV.

Obviously we should be compassionate towards poz folks, but I wonder if prevention efforts have been hampered by focusing on combating stigma, i.e., by (wrongly) painting the disease as not that big a deal.
