  1. The UK House of Lord is going to vote on the equal marriage bill next Tuesday. Basically the Parliament just wants their signature but not their opinions, especially those coming from the Church of England. Hopefully they know their places and give their consents.

  2. Angelina doesn't have cancer. She prophylactically had her breasts removed and had a reconstruction. Why would people expect her to look anything but beautiful.

  5. Kings, queens, princes,princesses, dukes, lords, bishops of an official state religion serving in the upper house,etc. Throw them all out on their arse. I don't know why the English and British people tolerate it.

  6. I met Robbie Rogers earlier this week when his team was playing in NC. He's even cuter in person, and super humble.

  7. When you think of separation of church and state, think of how bishops have essentially lifetime seats in parliament in the UK, but only Anglican bishops. Imagine if one-third of the US Senate were reserved for Baptist ministers or Catholic bishops.

  8. anon;

    Scary indeed!

    Though one could argue that the the evangellcal and mormons whores riding through DC, grabbing cash and perks, while destroying the lives of tax-paying gays and lesbians, do a fine job without actual ministers of religion riding shotgun (roughshod) on democracy. In fact, many of them are 'Ministers' or 'Pastors'.

  10. anon:
    It is completely different. The Lords are not elected but appointed. They have no mandate from the people. Their roles are essentially ceremonial. If they are stupid enough to oppose the will of the people i.e. the Commons, as former Health Secretary Lord Fowler put it, will be politically suicidal.
    Again history tells us a lot of untrained people went on the Crusades because they think they heard the "call" from God.
