  1. Shirvell's defamation suit!?!? HILARIOUS!

Oh, gurrrrl, you be one sad reluctant queen.

    http://littlekiwilovesbauhaus.blogspot.ca/2010/09/crazy-closeted-andrew-shirvell.html

check that out. right when the Shirvell story broke I messaged him on facebook, and we had a lovely back-and-forth that ended up being used in court in the case against him, which Armstrong won.

  2. Is Matt Bomer going to do the post-car-accident Clift or just the self-loathing alcoholic Clift?

  3. The more important question is whether Matt Bomer is going to do the gay Monty Clift or straight Monty Clift who was in love with Elizabeth Taylor according to the above link.
Probably they will hire the same Russian production team who did a film about a straight Tchaikovsky.

  4. Just FYI: Teachers get fired for being gay in the US, too.

  5. Monty Clift was a very tragic figure- the plot of that movie sounds like pure fantasy. But Matt Boner seems like perfect casting- well at least he won't mind doing the homosexual sex scenes....

  6. @ SIMON

There is no "gay Monty Clift or straight Monty Clift" He was Bisexual. And if you bother to read the article it answers your question.

  7. Jarago:
I won't hold my breath for that. It is more likely they will have sex scenes between Monty Clift and Elizabeth Taylor. I remember reading an interview with Taylor. She said she never had sex with Monty. It is known that his companion Lorenzo James found him dead in 1966. this and his habits of cruising for sex are probably too much for a Hollywood film.

  8. James:
I don't know which article you are talking about and where that "bisexual" comes from.
There is a comment by one Johnny West there which sums it up like this:
Well, the problem is that Monty was gay, so “in love with Liz” isn’t quite historically accurate and what would be the point of portraying him that way? Odd.

  9. I wish we could let Mongomery Clift rest in peace. rather than have some narcissistic bad actor portray him. Matt just can't get enough of himself, like anyone remotely associated with Brian Murphy. He should stretch and do a film about Paul Lynde. That would test his acting ability. And Lynde was gay -- not mythic gay like Clift. Come to think of it James Franco (James Dean) would capture Monty.

  10. Chris Pine's longer hair. I'll sleep better tonight knowing about that.
I wonder who's in Andy Towle's freezer? Whoops.... I mean what.

  12. It sounds like "Monty Clift" is going to be "Will & Grace: The Carriage Trade Edition"

Monty was GAY. Lorenzo James was his houseman. His last lover was Ben Bagley.

His other lovers included Jack Larson (aka. "Superman's pal Jimmy Olson") Jack told me that Monty was "a very happy drunk" who after the accident became " a very unhappy drug addict" because of everything he had to take for the pain.

I was working as an usher at the Baronet / Coronet theaters on third ave. in 1966 and saw Monty on what turned out to be the night he died. He was literally CRAWLING back home -- a total wreck. The street was full of people and they all stood aside to watch the sad spectacle of a once beautiful man who was now a shell of his former shell. Beyond sad.

Elizabeth Taylor was as we all know a close friend. She adored gay men (eg. Rock Hudson, James Dean, Roddy McDowell) She wanted him to co-star with her in "Reflections in a Golden Eye" but the insurers wouldn't pay for it. So she put up the money herself. But then Monty died.

  14. Bomer as Clift is not going to turn out well. Bomer has none of the moodiness and tortured soul of Clift.

  15. Prince Harry could have spent the night in the freezer, he was probably more comfortable than on Andy's sleep number with gel insert.

  17. Shouldn't it be mothers-in-law?

    Posted by: Joe | Sep 19, 2013 9:33:44 AM

  18. 1) Yes, it should be mothers-in-law.

    2) Monty WAS gay not bisexual. that was a beard story created by the movie system to keep his homosexuality out of the Press.

    3) Chris Pike just looks like sloppy. I hope it's for a role.

    4) oh, never mind. That Shirvell thing is just too stupid for words.
