Curious to know what Aaron Schock's been up to since his high-profile resignation from Congress back in March? According to Politico's KGB File, the former Illinois Congressman has been busy hiking to the top of Machu Picchu in Peru.
During dinner at a restaurant in the Peruvian city of Cusco, once the capital of the Incan Empire, Schock and his father, Richard Schock (who accompanied him on the trip), were overheard discussing the disgraced former congressman's legal woes and how to navigate the murky waters of what the ethics probe might reveal. Cusco is a popular spot for tourists on their way to the main attraction, Machu Picchu, about 50 miles away.
The KGB File notes Schock was “apparently alone this week with his dad” and not joined by his personal “staff photographer” Jonathon Link (pictured right).
During the investigation earlier this year into Schock's campaign spending habits, it was revealed Schock had brought Link along on an official trip to India paid for by a private advocacy organization. Schock never disclosed that Link went on the trip, which is required by law.
Earlier this week, Illinois state Sen. Darin LaHood won the GOP nomination to replace Schock in Congress.
