Tom Daley: 'I am a Gay Man Now'

Yesterday we posted some photos of Tom Daley's appearance (with actor and host Joe Swash, above) on the ITV show Celebrity Juice, which was broadcast in the UK last night.

Daley disclosed on the show that although he said he 'still fancied girls' (in the YouTube video last December), "I am a gay man now."

Daley also spoke about making the YouTube clip: "I came out on YouTube as I wanted to say what I wanted to say without anyone twisting it. I told my family before I told the world. I was terrified. I did not know what the reaction was going to be. I did it on YouTube because people were constantly digging and asking questions."

As for his relationship with Dustin Lance Black, it's "all good"

'Dreamy Team' Dan Osborne and Tom Daley Dive Together: VIDEO

On this week's UK diving reality show Splash, reality show star Dan Osborne mounted the high-diving platform with his mentor Tom Daley and the duo took a dive together, and the host kindly noted what was on everyone's minds:

"For everyone who's drooling at the TV right now, I'm going to give you the opportunity to pause your digital recording system, take a screen shot, and use this as your new screen saver."

Tom Daley is The New Face Of Adidas Street-wear Brand, NEO: VIDEO

DaleyThe Daily Mail reports that the out and in-love Olympic diver has signed on to be the face of Adidas’ NEO, a line of athletic inspired street wear. Said Daley of becoming the poster boy for the NEO campaign,

“It's great to be working with adidas on their NEO label. It's a fun collection and it's constantly changing. The jumper I wore for the NEO shoot is one of my favourites at the moment. It's a twist on a standard jumper and it's exactly what I like to throw on after training with a pair of jeans.”

Adidas has recently come under criticism for not allowing customers in the UK to use certain LGBT-related words on its customizable training shoes which provide the buyer the option to personalize the shoes with text. While words such as “straight” were reportedly allowed, “gay,” “lesbian,” “bisexual,” “trans,” “homophobia,” and “faggot” were disallowed, according to Pink News.

However, a recent visit to Adidas’ US website did not provide any such difficulties with personalization. At this time it’s not clear whether customization involving the aforementioned words is still disallowed in the UK and whether such words were ever blocked on the US site.

Check out a video of Daley making the announcement about his new partnership,

Tom Daley Enjoys Some Buff Diving: VIDEO

Dan Osborne, a cast member on TOWIE (The Only Way is Essex, Britain's answer to Jersey Shore), made a splash this week on the UK version of the reality diving competition Splash.

Forgive host Gabby Logan and mentor Tom Daley if they're a bit distracted by his, erm, tattoos.

Said Osborne: "I didn’t choose them trunks. At first I was like, “No way, that’s not happening. They went for it, they really did. They went to town on my trunks. They were well cool. After Splash!, I’m keeping them. I’m going to wear them on my next holiday – I’m taking them to Dubai with me."

Tom Daley Inspires Top Brazilian Diver Ian Matos to Come Out as Gay

Tom Daley has been cited as inspiration for top Brazilian diver Ian Matos to come out of the closet in an interview with the newspaper Correia, Outsports reports:

"From a young age, I knew I was gay, but it was here that I got to live my sexuality," said Matos, 24, now living in Rio de Janiero.

He said a friend advised him to stay closeted until after the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, but Matos said the pressure of hiding boyfriends, avoiding gay parties and not being himself proved too much. He said he hoped that coming out would not impact his ability to be a successful diver and not cost him any potential sponsorship.
