Coming out is a seminal part in the life of any LGBT person. And though this experience is often times nerve-wracking and filled with fear about how others will respond, sometimes the announcement of "I'm coming out" is not so much a surprise to friends and family. Case in point: a recent YouTube video shows one mother re-enacting her response to news of her child's impending "announcement" about being gay. As the video makes clear, mom had been knocking on her baby's closet door waiting for him (or her–the video doesn't specificy the gender of her child) to come out.
Said the mom in the video,
So you comin' out of the closet right? You gonna make an announcement? Ok, you say you're gay? Okay we're waiting on the announcement. Is that the announcement? Because for us it was like, [opens door] are you coming out? Not yet? All right. Every now and then [knocks on door], are you ready? Oh okay well let us know when you come out, okay. Oh, you made an announcement. Oh, okay. Dang. Cause it wasn't locked. We've been in this door."
