On Monday night's The Daily Show, host Jon Stewart took time to focus on Mike Huckabee's statement that, in signing the Iran nuclear deal, President Obama is “taking the Israelis and march[ing] them to the door of the ovens.”
While you might expect Stewart to verbally eviscerate Huckabee's idiocy, Huckabee's remarks were so off the charts crazy as to leave Stewart speechless.
Instead of a verbal take down, Stewart reacted to different news clips in a minion-like-manner, uttering only guttural noises with a caption that perfectly summed up his reaction to Huckabee's comments: “Urrrrgggghhhhhhhh.”
But was Huckabee merely attempting to copy Donald Trump's style of saying incendiary remarks then doubling down on them, a strategy that has led Trump to the front of the GOP pack? As Stewart points out, that can hardly be the case given Huckabee's long history of making offensive remarks (including his now infamous anti-trans comments) long before the Donald entered the 2016 race.
