A new ad for canine DNA testing features a gay Los Angeles couple who share how knowing their dog's DNA help saved his life.
Darwin's two gay dads met him and fell in love with him at an adoption fair. While the couple assumed Darwin was a boxer because their adoption agency specialized in that breed, his behavior seemed out of sync with what they knew about boxers. Eventually, they decided to test his DNA and found out that he was not a boxer at all, but rather a mix of German Shorthair Pointer, bulldog, and Neapolitan Mastiff. When Darwin got sick and almost died, that knowledge turned out to be crucial.
