Those wacky Canadians with their progressive jabs of humor. Everyone knows they're just jealous of their Big Brother to the South.
Seriously, thanks Andy, I loved it.

Do women in Canada have the right to vote yet? It's so annoying that they drive on the left too.

This is from a weekly show called 'The Rick Mercer Report" on our public broadcaster CBC. The host goes around Canada filming wacky skits everywhere from military bases to universities and many feature politicans trying painfully to reveal their sense of humour.
Oh and Rick is gay. He doesn't like to talk about it or publicize it which I have mixed feelings about. Granted, in a country where I can marry or adopt it doesn't matter that he's not public about it - he doesn't really have to be - since anti-gay bigotry is a minority position here in Canada*.
*btw our Federal government's Opposition party, the Liberals, is presently, temporarily run by a gay man - he's married to a woman - but he's fairly out since he hosts Pride parties and I see him at gay bars sometimes.
Oh and in the coming weeks you'll hear much about our government re-opening the gay marriage debate. It may seem like it's in danger of being overturned. It's NOT. The current Prime Minister Steve Harper (his name is Steven but your President refers to him as 'Steve' and like the obiedent dog he is, he just accepts it) knows it can't be overturned but he promised his crazed religious supporters that he'd do it and so he is.

Rick Mercer - The Greatest Canadian.
"Congratulations, Canada, on legalizing staplers."
The man is a genius.

Now I understand more why Rick Mercer went diving with Alex Despatie in last week's show. I would too! Great clip.

Justin, it's not only the religious right that is pushing for the free vote in Parliament. The group, Canadians For Equal Marriage, also wants Harper to keep this election promise, since the vote will almost certainly fail.

Btw, this free vote does not constitute a re-opening of the marriage debate.

Do Canadians speak English yet? They're always trying to force their French metric system down on us as if we are all idiots here in the states. You can't understand a word they say on their TV shows. Red-Green? What gives?

Do Americans know Mercer is gay?
