Video: Anderson Cooper Takes His Mardi Gras Bead-Throwing Very Seriously
Earlier I posted a photo of Anderson Cooper and co. on top of the Endymion float in this year's New Orleans Mardi Gras parade. Here's some video. It's clear that Anderson tackles all of his jobs with utmost seriousness.
Happy Fat Tuesday everyone!
Watch, AFTER THE JUMP...

It's always disappointing to see this closet case featured on Towleroad. Where's the pride and self-respect?

I'm not sure who's a worse role model for gays: closet case Andy Cooper or silly billy Andy Cohen.

Throws Mardi Gras beads like a WASP.

This seems like so much fun. I love AC.

What is the guy supposed to do, start each broadcast by stating "I'm Anderson Cooper and I'm gay. Now the news."?

I agree with Jeffrey in St. Louis, though it would be good if in some other forum, like when he's being interviewed, AC publicly acknowleged being gay. To call him a closet case and someone without pride and self-respect is ridiculous. He doesn't go around faking interest in or relationships with women, which I would think would be a real sign of lack of self-respect. And he host New Year's Eve with Kathy Griffin, so how much of a closet case is he?

He does not need to start the news announcing he is gay but he could make a stand on a LBGT issue as a gay man or MC a LBGT event and comment on being a gay man

Anderson's VERY sexy when he's all serious and stuff.

@Jimbo, I don't watch his show but I know he spent a week covering bullying and he's covered DADT extensively, mocking people who defend it. I don't defend most people in the closet, but AC travels to extremely dangerous and homophobic locations (Haiti, Egypt, etc.) and is widely recognized. So I'd say him being closeted is a matter of personal safety and professional ability instead of making sure he makes money (he certainly doesn't need any).
Not to mention, everyone knows he's gay. He hangs out openly with his boyfriends, hits on guys at airports, etc. And for all we know, CNN and/or CBS have it written in his contract that if he comes out, he loses his job. I'd rather have him working than not.

The ease with which he pulled back the wrapping on that phallic looking bundle in his hand suggests he's had practice with this sort of activity.

@ jimbo He has taken stands over gay issues and in support of gay individuals (like that gay college kid being stalked by the bigot from the attorney general's office). He has emceed the big New York Elton John AIDS event a number of times and contributed lunch dates with AC to be auctioned off at the Bailey House gay charity event.
He hasn't expressly publicly said he's taking a stand on an issue as a gay man but I can't remember seeing him ever say "as an X myself, I find that offensive" about anything else when he's anchoring either. CNN has some black gays like Donna Brazile and Don Lemon who expressly provide their personal racial perspective as a black person on racial issue stories but never provide their personal perspective as gays on gay issue stories, but Anderson is more consistent.

like he was unwrapping an uncircumcised shaft of skin. yum.

I caught beads from him! and proceeded to cream my shorts! I think his partner was right behind him handing him beads.

Also, why does no one ever complain about Pete Williams of NBC not being out? Is it because he's not as cute as AC?
Posted by: Paul R | Mar 8, 2011 11:00:31 PM
Pete Williams was outed years ago.

Well at least I'm not the ONLY one who had nasty thoughts while watching AC unwrap that package.
Posted by: Jordan | Mar 9, 2011 3:18:36 AM
Yes but Jordan you started it, you set the example. You're so nasty, way nasty, probably nastier than anyone. I would never have hought - and then SAID - what you said. It's too nasty.
