Pastor: We Successfully Prayed Hurricane Away from Tampa

Peters

Reverend Jesten Peters of Keys of Authority Ministries told the Christian Broadcasting Network that her organization successfully prayed Isaac away from Tampa, Right Wing Watch reports.

Said Peters:

"We have had lots and lots of people praying around the clock that it would move, and after you watch from the very beginning where they were saying it was coming and now where they say it is going, then it has really moved out of the way for us and we appreciate God doing that and moving it for us!"

  1. So "god" moved it away from Tampa and sent it to batter the good people of Louisiana instead? So tired of the fantasy world these people live in. Simply delusional.

  2. So, she prayed it away from the Tampa and onto some other people. She has such a compassionate god. And she has a monumental ego.

  3. @Busytimmy:
Can't you see they are old and desperately want their childhood back. :P

  5. Ok, just so we're clear:

God will answer weather-related prayers if they are made in relation to GOP conventions, but not actual, like, "loss of life" things. Like Katrina or any of the Tsunamis that have devastated the world.

just the ones that might affect GOP conventions.

just like if you pray hard enough to Jeebus you can develop a taste for pu**y, apparently, but Jeebus is so busy curing self-hating gay men of their love of the phallus to be able to cure Little Jessica and her terminal cancer.

    right?

is this also the same God that sends devastating weather as punishment for Deb & Sue trying to marry yet didn't send devastating weather to punish slavery, segregation, and the extermination of more than 6 millions Jews during the Holocaust?

i dunno. this God of theirs sounds like an @sshole with messed-up priorities....

  7. You know what irks me the most about this? Her attitude. I don't know if she goes on because of the sudden clip that ends the recording, but she didn't seem bothered in the least that others will suffer because they "prayed their hurricane away".

"Oh, who cares? It won't hit us so everything is fine~! *giggle*"

  8. There are stupid people in this world and then there are the idiots. Let's welcome Ms. Peters to the world of idiots.

  9. So does that mean God prefers Tampa over New Orleans? Oh yeah, that's right, since New Orleans leans Democratic and Tampa is infested with Republicans these days he's showing us who he's endorsing in the election. Idiot.

  10. I was going to say something . . . but it looks like you guys said all that needed to be said.

  11. Why couldn't she at least have prayed the rain away and into the dustbowl to relieve the drought her god sent. Or was the drought sent by a different god?

  13. AND WHY NOT? I'M THE FIRST TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE POWER OF PRAYER. AFTER ALL, THE FAMED WITCHES OF THE NEW FOREST IN ENGLAND JOINED FORCES AND WERE ABLE TO REPEL HITLER'S FORCES FOR HE SUDDENLY GAVE UP ON HIS TERRIFYING ATTACKS ON ENGLAND. PRAYER AND WORKING ONE'S MOJO IS QUITE EFFECTIVE NO MATTER WHO DOES IT. NAMASTE.

  14. According to her ministry's website this "Woman of the Year" says: "I gain satisfaction from helping others. That brings me joy." Well, how joyful do you feel about praying the hurricane to New Orleans' front yard? That must make you feel good? When are you hopping on the bus to go and help them out after the hurricane hits?

  15. The ultimate NIMBY moron - just delusional.

  16. since all their prayers are answered, how about praying for world peace? a cure for cancer and AIDS? for an end to starvation and oppression? Huh? How about praying for some of those things?

  17. If she can control the path of the storm, I think she should be held responsible for any damages caused after leaving Tampa. I mean, she could have easily (apparently) sent it out to sea, but, instead, (apparently) decided to assault the rest of the Gulf Coast.

If she wants the credit(/blame), I say give it to her! :)

  19. Don't you think it would be fair to those of us who value our time to put IQ #'s up on the screen for everyone that speaks in public?
So, say we knew this beech has an IQ of 40 before listening to her...we would make an informed decision NOT TO ?? I mean really, if we knew she were 6 years old...would we listen?
It's a terrible waste of time & energy.

  20. How wonderful. I am sure people in Louisiana are very happy.

  21. Try prayer when you get cancer or are born in starving conditions in Africa. Works wonders.

  22. Will the teavangelicals take credit for anyone killed along the coast because of their prayer success?

  23. Now she can get back to praying for less taxes for the wealthy, the end of social security, Medicaid, Medicare and affordable health care reform, and for the build-up of the military, but against government intervention to stimulate the economy, and for a Constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage, and for the end of homosexuality.

  24. She's even a reverend and can't say that with a straight face. Seriously, I believe that she is laughing at the notion that she really believes it was their doing.
